A newly constructed and renovated substantial detached villa. Set in secluded, well stocked, walled gardens with outstanding summer kitchen, extensive terraced areas and 8m x 4m lit swimming pool. Fully self catering and well equipped. This is a quiet getaway but only a few minutes drive from a major new marina development (Balchik), 2 golf courses, the extensive beach resort of Albena, the city buzz of Varna or natural headland (Cape Kaliakra). This is a luxury getaway, refurbished to a modern, high and comfortable standard. Ideal for families, friends or that romantic break. The property is located in a quiet and quaint farming village. It has no immediate neighbour and is not overlooked. The house has a very large garden area with lots of terraces, areas and space. This is a rural retreat yet only a short drive from activities and attractions of the Black Sea coast and a good base from which to explore. The Danube and Istanbul are both within 1/2 a days drive for excursions.

Pop Grigorovo is a quiet rural village situated only 45 mins transfer from Varna Airport. The Marina town of Balchick with its small beach is only 15 minutes away. This seaside town offers everything you need for a quiet getaway and is very popular with the Bulgarians themselves. A further 10 minutes down the coast is the beach resort of Albena with a busy nightlife and extensive family friendly sandy beaches. Moving inland about 10 minutes will take you to the large town of Dobrich, a bustling municipal centre.Varna city centre offers a vibrant cafe society, good shopping and cultural attractions. There is something for all ages and tastes on this northern Black Sea coast region. Within 45 minutes in any direction you will find all sorts of attractions, natural, cultural, nightlife, shopping, spa treatments, historic sights, trips and excursions, gardens, kids activities the list goes on.

With heating and great food and wine, the villa is available all year round for a getaway or to use as a base to explore the Bulgarian interior. However, to make full use of the facilities and weather (for sun seekers), the best times to visit are from early May through until the end of October. Bulgaria gets very hot at the height of summer so those who want a sunshine holiday with more comfortable temperatures will enjoy it most early May to late June and Late August to early October. I have spent time at the house in mid April, the spring is a great time to visit and whilst the pool was 'fresh' it was still full sunbathing weather with no rain for the whole week. The 'season' for the coastal resorts start on the 1st May. This is when you will find greater choice on flights from the UK

Notes to the rental rates

A returnable security deposit of £400 is payable prior to travel. This is paid directly to the owner with the balance of any renatl payment.
On arrival you will be met at the house by my agent who will settle you in, ensure you have keys and let you ave their contact number in case of any queries during your stay.
On departure, the agent advises me if the property has been returned in clean and maintained condition and the deposit is refunded directly to your bank account.

My agent will be able to make hire car arrangements for you or I can provide details of hire cars bookable in the UK for pick up at Varna airport on arrival. The agent is also fully contactable (and lives locally) in case of any emergency or queries during your stay.

Balchik and Albena
Balchik (15 minutes) - marina resort and small beach, great friendly restaurants, boat trips, small museum, shopping, Queen Maries Summer Palace and Gardens (a must!). There is a new Marina development and this lovely town, set into the side of the cliffs, is set to tastefully expand. There are 2 golf courses located on the edge of the town (approximately 10/15 minutes from the villa). Albena (25 minutes) - full beach resort, fantastic beach, watersports, restaurants, horse riding, football, go karts, bowling, cinema, spa(s), massage and shopping. Albena is a purpose built resort with excellent clean and maintained beaches. Albena offers a busy bar/ restaurant scene but it is not overdone. The Bulgarians have been careful to control building and expansion to protect the feel of the area. There is also access to a small nature reserve. All this northern coastline has safe sandy beaches, clean sea waters and plenty to see and do.
Varna
Varna (40 minutes) - Bulgaria's 3rd city, vibrant cafe society, lots of shopping, beach, aquarium, dolphin show, parks, fantastic museums and art galleries. This is a great city to visit, it has a fascinating history and a rich cultural heritage. There are attractions and interests for all ages and you could visit for a whole week and still not see everything! Not as 'pretty' as other European cities but the Bulgarians have a friendly and youthful outlook which makes it a safe and comfortable place to explore (and get lost!)
Natural and Historic Attractions
Cape Kaliakra (35 mins)- historic headland and park. Roman ruins and defences, dolphin and whale viewings, outstanding natural beauty. This is one of many natural or historic attractions within 45 minutes drive of the villa. Other attractions to look out in the region for are the 'stone forest', roman museums, ancient cave monastery. There are also nature reserves with protected bird species and a wide mix of flora and fauna. Bulgaria is famous for its roses and its honey.....the Valley of the Roses is 1/2 a days drive from the house and is a really good trip in the summer you get to see some amazing scenery and old villages. It is also famous for its sunflowers, grown on a vast scale for the oil . You will see massive fields full of flowers. Pottery, wood carvings, wool and leather goods are also very popular.
