La Tramousse is a recently refurbished apartment in a traditional chalet, 3 minutes walk from the centre of Chamonix town centre. Completely remodelled internally in 2006, to a very high standard and adding velux, this charming apartment is ideal for a family get away, with stunning views of Mont Blanc and the Aiguille du Midi from the sunny south facing balcony. The apartment is arranged over 2 floors. The first floor has a double bedroom and en suite shower room, while the top floor has a double bedroom with bath en-suite, a twin room with views over the Brevent and a further shower room. The kitchen is fully equipped and the dining table seats 6 easily. A log burning stove, TV with DVD, quality hi-fi system and comfortable corner sofa are to be enjoyed in the south facing open plan living room with French windows onto the balcony. There is a charming mezzanine with stunning views, ideal for relaxing at the end of the day. Outside there is parking for 2 vehicles, by arrangement.

Chamonix is a vibrant town in the French Alps, situated on the borders of France, Italy and Switzerland and the 3rd most visited site in the world!. It is renowned for its superb skiing, walking, mountaineering and outdoor sports and is as popular with visitors in summer, as it is in winter. There are a range of ski areas both around Chamonix and easily accessible along the valley, offering challenges for the beginner and intermediate through to fantastic off piste for the more advanced. Getting around Chamonix is easy, using the 'Mulets ' (bus) in the town centre (1min away), and either the train or Chamonix bus (5min away) that runs regularly from Les Houches to Argentiere and La Tour. La Tramousse is located in a quiet residential area of Chamonix called Le Lyret and is only a 3 min walk from the very heart of the town, packed with an eclectic mix of shops, bars and restaurants.

Please be aware that our apartment is in a shared house with other local residents. We are bound by the co-propriety agreement, which states particularly that there is no loud noise after 10pm. We ask that you act respectfully during your stay here, and ensure that, when you enter and leave the building, you do so quietly and considerately. There is a ski rack and heated boot locker by the front door to the apartment building.

Excellent location and facilities

We stayed at the apartment during August 2009 and found it to be an excellent choice. The apartment is well furnished and offered plenty of space for our family of five. The location was perfect being a short distance from the centre of Chamonix and also close to the Aiguille du Midi cable car and the railway station to Montevers. There was plenty of space infront of the apartment with an area marked for parking our large car outside. It was also a quiet location and the view of the Bossons glacier and Mont Blanc from the balcony captured our attention every night. Highly recommended for a family visiting Chamonix. The apartment was equiped with a modern washing machine, dishwasher and plenty of bathrooms. Free wifi for us to check weather forcasts and plan our activities. The apartment is also sufficiently close to a very good patisserie for croissants each morning. We were very pleased with the apartment and would recommend it to friends and family.

Christmas Skiing 2008

Just wanted to say what a great place you have in Chamonix. It has everything you need & was nicely decked out as well. It has a great homely feel to it which helped us settle in really quickly. It was just far enough away from the centre to be peaceful but a 5 min walk took you to where you needed to be for the shops & restaurants.

We used Extreme Technique for the ski hire and can highly recommend the service, the price & the quality, everything was brand new.

We also used Evolution 2 for the ski lessons & again can highly recommend them. They were all English speaking instructors and took care of only small groups of around 5 -6 people, unlike other better known outfits.

Thanks for your assurances regarding the suitability for my family of varying ages & abilities. You were spot on !.

We had a great Xmas and can't wait to return.

Really excellent apartment

Had a wonderful 2 weeks in this apartment in August 2008. The location is superb - central to Chamonix & yet peaceful. The view from the balcony is worth the rental money by itself. Very spacious & comfortable for 4 people. Excellent standard of furnishings.

Perfect Pad

The whole experience from booking through to staying at this property was faultless. We were greeted at the property by local rep, who was very helpfull, providing useful information of the best places to ski, get passes etc, more importantly good places to eat and drink (especially liked the welcome drinks kindly provided in the fridge, very welcome after a long drive from the UK). The apartment itself surpassed our expectations, excellent refurbishement and very imaginative utilisation of space. The beds very especially comfy, and the bathroom facilies were very modern, nice touches (under floor heating). Couldn't wish to be placed in a better location within the village, very close to everything needed to ensure a fab holiday and not just for skiing, would also be ideal base for summer holidays also. Would highly recommend this apartment for large families or two family groups.
