Brief Description: The old Big Timber Stage Stop building was moved to this picturesque setting on Big Timber Creek, and underwent a full refurbishing and renovation. The home has a rustic, western feel with top of the line furnishings and amenities. The creek meanders through the back yard, and a bridge leads to the bunkhouse on the other side of the creek. The imposing Crazy Mountains are off to the west - absolutely gorgeous mountains with fabulous hiking opportunities!
General location: Stage Stop is located about ten minutes north of Big Timber. Livingston is approximately 40 minutes away. Bozeman and Billings, and the nearest airports, are just over an hour from the home.
Bedrooms and bathrooms: The home has two bedrooms on the main level and a small sleeping loft as well. The master bedroom is very spacious with a king size bed, patio doors leading out to the hot tub, and a huge private bath with a deluxe copper lined shower. The second bedroom is set up with two double beds and another private bathroom with stall shower. The sinks in the bathrooms (and the kitchen) are old fashioned cast iron deep sinks. The sleeping loft is up above the tv viewing room, and has one double size bed. There is a half bath in the hall off the living area. Additional sleeping space for four more guests is available in the bunkhouse just a short walk away. This sweet little cabin has four bunk beds, a small table for reading or games, and a full bathroom with shower stall. In the winter, the cabin's plumbing is turned off -- the cabin is available with heat and lights, but no bathroom for winter guests.
Kitchen: This wonderful kitchen has a huge butcher block style island with barstool seating for chatting with the chef. The kitchen is set up with stainless steel gourmet appliances, a small bar fridge, and all the high quality cookware and serving ware that any meal may need. Happy cooking!
Dining room: A sunny enclosed porch serves as the dining room. The old style table seats eight comfortably, and there is a woodstove in the corner to warm things up on a chilly evening. Tons of windows surround the dining area, providing views of the mountains as well as the lush lawn surrounding the creek.
Services available: The rental rate includes an end of stay cleaning. For guests who stay two weeks or more, a weekly cleaning will be done. Additional housekeeping, as well as catering service can be arranged with a bit of prior notice.
Activities nearby: Fishing and birdwatching along the creek is available right out the back door! A short drive away is plenty of outdoor recreation opportunities including horseback riding, rafting, hiking, and visiting Yellowstone National Park. The fun towns of Big Timber and Livingston provide plenty of restaurants, art galleries and antique shops to browse. There's so much to do!
Other details: No smoking is allowed in the home. No pets are allowed on the property or in the home without prior approval from Mountain Home. The home has a private phone, and a washer and dryer. All Mountain Home properties have fully equipped kitchens, and include good quality kitchen, bath and bed linens, and staples like paper goods, laundry, dish and hand soaps.
