3 Beautiful Pyrénéan Cottages have been carefully converted, combining original features with modern comfort & are spotlessly clean. Each set in its own private garden with BBQ, separate entrance & off road parking. The thick stone walls make it cool in summer without air-conditioning. Le Paloumé is a traditional Catalan organic family farm dating back to the 7th. century. Situated in an unspoilt area of outstanding natural beauty and within walking distance of the Spanish border. Guests enjoy our 120 peaceful acres of meadows, woodlands, breathtaking scenery, pure clean air, fresh spring water & wonderful climate. The main pool 10m x 5m has a fabulous position with panoramic views & in full sun from dawn to dusk. It is fenced, gated & alarmed to French standards. The weekly 5 course dinner, created from our own organic produce and local wine, is a happy social occasion for all when we can share with guests our 15 years of experience and knowledge of the area and Catalan culture.

La Bergerie is a lovely 3 bed roomed detached cottage with its own private pool (7.3m x 3.7), alarmed & fenced. The sitting room is spacious & comfortable with 2 large settees, armchair, writing desk, original oak beams, chestnut flooring & log fire. There are dining table & chairs for 7 (space for up to 16 when a group wishes to eat together inside). The kitchen is fully equipped (dishwasher), opening on to a south-east facing terrace with table & chairs - perfect for breakfast. Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms, the beds made up ready for use and family bathroom. French windows open onto a terrace with steps (gated) down to the poolside dining area with large BBQ, tiled table and chairs for 7 with glorious views & sunsets. La Bergerie is completely private in its own south facing garden planted with Mediterranean flowers & herbs full of butterflies. There are sun loungers, parasols & natural shade, your own entrance & off-road parking. You also have use of the main pool.

Le Paloumé, is 10 mins. drive from the large Catalan village of St. Laurent de Cerdans; with all facilities: shops, bars, restaurants, take always, banks, pharmacy, cinema, museum, tourist information, Saturday market and many outdoor pursuits. Steeped in Catalan culture, the fêtes are lively and great fun with music, dancing, communal meals, amazing cabarets, bals and discos. Near by towns: Amelie les Bains, market & thermal spa town; Céret, modern art gallery; there are daily markets & restaurants to suit every taste. We are 1 Hour from Perpignan; Mediterranean beaches, Collioure (Matisse); Figueres (Dali museum); 1½ hours Gerona and 2hrs. Barcelona in Spain & Carcassone in France. There is much local history to explore: 1000 year old castles, abbeys, churches, chateaux... All this with the magnificent backdrop of Mont Canigou, snow capped for ½ the year.

| Notes: | La Bergerie is ideal for holidays all year round. It is heated by a log fire, hot air central heating and electric heaters. The stairs can be gated top and bottom. There is a large selection of books of all types in the sitting room. The large garden has space for up to 16 to eat together, extra tables and chairs are provided. The gate leads to the wild flower meadow and main pool, 10m x 5m, alarmed and fenced. The utility room houses the washing machine, iron, ironing board, hairdryers, tourist information, library, toys & games cupboard. All cleaning materials washing powder and pegs are provided. Each cottage has it’s own washing line. |

The magic of Le Paloume
The beauty & tranquillity of Le Paloumé makes it a very special place. After the sunset of their 1st. evening guests have visibly relaxed; worlds away from stress & cares. On entering their cottage they see at once that their comfort & convenience has been fully thought out. The table is laid & their meal (if ordered) is ready on the stove. In the morning a basket of fresh croissants & bread awaits them on their terrace – a perfect start to the first day of their holiday. There is masses to do in the area but when relaxing with a book beside the pool (or in front of a log fire) is all you want to do; choose from our extensive library: novels, thrillers, biography, factual, literature, children’s & still more novels…All our guests say that the weekly dinners are a high point; good food, good wine & good company on the candle lit terrace; our dark skies brilliant with stars. We hope you will have had an unforgettable holiday.

When rented together the cottages provide comfortable accommodation for 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 & 16. La Bergerie plus Can Paloumé and Le Gîte can accommodate up to 16 La Bergerie plus Can Paloumé can accommodate up to 12 La Bergerie plus Le Gîte can accommodate up to 11 In the large garden of La Bergerie there is space, tables and chairs for up to 16 to eat together. There is room inside also when required. Can Paloumé and Le Gîte can accommodate up to 9. The terraces of Can Paloume and Le Gite are linked by steps the gate to which is opened when rented together. Up to 9 can be seated on Can Paloume's terrace. We can accommodate all on our vine covered terrace for memorable dinners.

Skiing Information:
Skiing is an hour drive in Spain and also and hour and half in France. But in a good year for snow there is a ski run in Prats, only 20 min. drive away.
Golf Information:
Domain De Falgos, only 15 mins. drive from Le Paloumé, is a highly praised 18-hole course with panoramic views from Mount Canigou to the Mediterranean coast. It is par 70 and 5047m and was designed by Alain Dehaye Amelie Les Bains, 9 hole. Saint-Cyprien, an 18 hole and 9 hole courses with par 73 and length 6480m. Torremirona Golf Club, 18 holes, par 72 and length 6245m. Peralada Gold Club, 18 and a 9 hole, par 71 and length 6704m.
