This charming 3 bedroom villa is designed in Catalan style and sits on a large, private (1/3 acre) garden with lovely views across the hills to Mas Nou at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in the prestigious Vizcondado estate. The villa has a tiled sun terrace at the front overlooking beautiful hills, perfect for al fresco dining in the summer. At the rear is a covered BBQ area with a kitchenette for outdoor cooking, a large patio, and outdoor shower /toilet facilities. The fenced / gated pool is a feature of the property, offering a safe environment for young children. The pool is secluded and private and enjoys sun all day. The villa is well-equipped with outdoor furniture and 6 sun loungers. Accommodation is for six: the master bedroom has a king size bed and its own private terrace and an en-suite bathroom, while the other two double/twin bedrooms share a second bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped- fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, hob, oven etc. Lounge furniture is new.

Palamos and Playa D'Aro are the two larger towns nearby, both a short drive away from the villa. Both towns have beautiful beaches, shops, numerous restaurants and tapas bars. The are a number of championship golf courses to be found along the coast, including the new Catalonia PGA and the spectacular Mas Nou. Leisure activities nearby, include a fantastic aqua park with numerous slides and a wave pool, sailing, and tennis. Playa d'Aro offers a wide range of luxury designer shops. All along the coastline there are an abundance of picturesque, sandy beaches and magnificent signposted walks. The Costa Brava is world-famous for its beautiful coastline and coves, and a boat or sailing trip to explore the views is recommended. Beaches: The Costa Brava is famous for its rocky coastline consisting of small coves and beaches with picturesque views and a mixture of sand, gravel and rock. There are a number of 'hidden gems' all along the coast, once fishing villages, now buoyant tourist spots providing great beaches with wonderful scenery, sailing and rustic seafront restaurants. Some of these gems are Sa Riera, Sa Tuna, and Llafranc. There are also many fine long stretches of sandy beaches, often along well-developed coasts, the main ones being Sant Antoni de Calonge (3kms), Playa d'Aro (6kms, Palamos (5kms), La Fosca (6kms) and Pals (25kms).

Golf: The Costa Brava offers an excellent range of golf courses. The spring and autumn climate in the area is perfect for golf holidays. There is normally a handicap certificate required for play. Mas Nou (8km) - 300m above the coast, fabulous views, tight fairways. Costa Brava (10km) - an older course, but well developed course. Emporda (25kms) - beautiful 36 holes, half of them through umbrella pine forests and half open wetlands. A popular golf holiday destination. Playa de Pals (25kms) - lovely course next to Pals beach, leading through pine woods. PGA Catalunya (30kms) - voted among Europe's Top 10 golf courses. 2 courses with spectacular scenery and conditions. Playa d'Aro (6kms) - short par 3 pitch and putt. Great for beginners.

Fabulous holiday had by all

We stayed here July 2009 for a week and had a fabulous holiday.
The villa had everything we needed and is in a quiet area. The fenced pool was a must for us as we have a toddler and she was safe on the right side of the fence. Our other kids (4 in total) had a "Whale" of a time in the pool.
I found the beds comfortable for a villa rental and the rest of the accomodation clean and comfortable.
The views from the villa were stunning, forest covered hillsides. Although in the midst of an estate of holiday villas, it's very secluded feel about the villa.
One thing that would have been useful was some local info ie. nearest supermarket and shops, but with a little driving around we found them.
Thank you for the food provisions in the villa on our arrival. It was a bit late when we arived and never has a bowl of pasta tasted soooo good.
We ate out a couple of evenings at Calonge's beach front(no ye'olde english bars or the likes), a few km away. Fabulous fish dishes and also fabulous beach facilities too.
I'd love to come back to the area for some costal/forest hikes when the kids are a bit older.
I'd recommend the villa to many of my friends if they're heading out that direction.

Very nice property and area

We stayed for ten nights in early June 2009. The property is lovely and the area makes a great base for exploring the beautiful coastline and neighbouring towns (including Barcelona).

The pool was warm and the garden sunny. The area was quiet with wonderful hillside views from the terraces. The kitchen was fine and well equipped, the living room furniture good. The quality of the beds was typically Spanish, springs tired and a bit uncomfortable compared to a decent quality mattress. Would have been 5 stars otherwise. I am sure other villas have similar beds so it is a minor point.

We had a great time and really recommend Calonge which offers good value due to the number of holiday villas. Hire Car definately required.

Lovely comfortable villa with super pool

The description was excellent and it was just as in the photos! Comfortable beds and a very well equipped kitchen and house. The outdoor BBQ area by the pool was very well used. This was a delightful house that we would return to again. The only disappointment was that there was building going on next door and the builders and thier radios were quite noisy on a couple of mornings.
The pool was lovely and very well maintained by a pool engineer who came quite early in the mornings several times during our visit. Always beautifully clean and clear and perfect temperature.
Don't go to the nearest supermarket (at the entrance to Calonge) unless you don't mind high prices or you are looking for British brands. The supermarket on the main street - going up towards the hills - is much cheaper.
