Luxury apartment on the edge of the Algarve's most beautiful town, Tavira. Two large bedrooms, one double and one twin. Well equipped kitchen including halogen hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine. There is air conditioning/heating and a large balcony overlooking the pool. This is Tavira's only purpose built resort and has pools, tennis courts, restaurant, and reception where the staff are so polite and helpful, and all speak excellent English. There is a supermarket at the entrance to the resort. Ideal if you just want to relax for a week. Tavira is 25 minutes drive from Faro Airport and 30 min from the Spanish border (the resort runs a shuttle service to the airport 25 Euros each way (30 Euros from 1st June 2009)). There are many golf courses in the vicinity, only a few minutes drive away, including Benamor, Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cema & Colina Verde. The resort has discount arrangements with many of these. The beach is idyllic and about 2 miles away.

Beautiful empty beaches with sands that seem to go on forever. Fields of orange trees, heavy with the scent of blossom. Then the hills of fig and almond trees and houses with dazzling whitewashed walls and distinctive chimneys decorated to resemble fine tracery of lace. And, last of all, the great open spaces. This is just a hint of the charms of Tavira and its municipality, an invitation to come and find out more. Tavira along with Lagos is one of the most architecturally attractive towns in the Algarve and its origin dates back to around 2.000 BC. During the occupation of the Algarve by the Moors this town was considered of great importance due to its fishing industry. Local golf courses include Benamor, designed by Sir Henry Cotton, the first golf course to open east of the capital of the Algarve, Faro, lying just outside of Tavira. The course is an undulating one, although not excessively so, offering views over the mountains to one side and the sea to the other.

Having just returned from this lovely apartment I can only say thank you to Mr Tingley. The apartment was first class, everything you could need was there and more. From the moment we were collected from the airport (30 euro) arranged by the complex we had a wonderful holiday. The site was so well maintained by the cleaners, gardeners, pool maintainence personnel, Best of all no rushing for sunbeds - the pool complex does not open until 10 am, this allowed for a pleasant walk or a lie in if you had been out the night before in the lovely town of Tavira. The town was busy every night everything happed in the square. Very interesting town too, from the castle to the observatory or just walking and stopping off to have a coffee or drink and walking through the gardens. The town was a 20 minute walk but once you were able to get to the other side of the road it was a very pleasant walk. Taxi was only 4.50 euro either way. Get the local bus timetable as a little busy bus can be had just on the other side of the road from the complex, The restaurants in Tavira are lovely as are the people. The restaurant on the site serves beautiful food too if you had a busy day and did not feel like cooking or travelling out again. Supermarket on site is great and new large shopping centre a five minute walk away. The beach is worth going to again the little bus leaves you near the boat that takes you to the island. We would hope to return again and would have no hesitation in booking this apartment.

From our first enquiry into this property I felt confident we were going to have a great holiday. The owner replied promptly and accurately about the property. we found it easily wth the directions he provided. The apartment was immaculately clean and spacious, easy to keep cool and we particularly liked the insect mesh that pulled over all windows and doors not that we needed them we weren`t bothered at all. The grounds are lovely and the pool area lovely and clean. We hired a car which unless you are intending to lay around the pool all day is a must. We loved the beach at Tavira and the ferry ride added to the experience. The town is charming with plenty of lovely places to eat. This was indeed a fabulous holiday!
