Photos and Description of this Kendal & South Lakes holiday house

Fell House is situated within the lovely ancient town of Sedbergh, mid-way between Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales and Windermere in the Lakes. You only need walk 100 metres up the road, however, and you are at the foot of the Howgill Fells, leading to much good walking country and the famous Cautley Spout waterfall. Fell House has three floors, the lower ground floor containing a flat with a family bedroom, its own shower-room and kitchen/lounge. The lounge contains a sofa-bed to increase the number of sleeping places if the whole property is booked. The ground floor contains the main lounge plus an area that can sleep up to 4 people if wanted. The first floor contains the fabulous kitchen dining area, three bedrooms (2 en-suite) and a further bathroom.

The whole of the ground floor is open plan, but contains an enclosed stairwell in the centre. Clever use of doors enable part of this floor to be used as a fourth bedroom, raising the number of guests that can be accommodated in The House from 6 to 8/10. By booking The Flat as well, up to 16 people can sleep and socialise at Fell House in comfort. The entrance to the ground floor is through the arch and large porch area at the front of Fell House. The indoor reception has a stone flagged floor, and a spiral staircase leading to the upper floor living area. The stone floor makes it suitable for coming into the warm with muddy boots, or for safe storage of bikes where they will not damage the flooring, whatever state they are in! Ahead is a wide passage leading to the reading area/fourth bedroom.
