Certain properties have a tangible presence, a mood, whether it be one of warmth or coolness, comfort or distress. Villa La Laguna's mood is equal parts air, light and substance, and the combination is spectacular. The numbers alone—6 bedrooms, 6 full baths plus 2 half-baths, 8,000 square feet—are impressive, but it's the feel of a home that matters, and Laguna feels fantastic.
Initially you are struck by its dazzling beachfront location, opening to pristine waters lapping on a secluded beach. All six of this new villa's suites give you delectable ocean views, and all six have their own balcony terraces and private baths. Furnishings are a winning blend of Hacienda and Balinese stylings. The broad expanses of the home's wide windows pull your eye to the spacious terrace and inviting pool, and toward the glinting ocean beyond.
The infinity pool is two levels, and the best method to traverse from upper to lower is by using the 12-foot slide. When you tire of that exertion, relax in the full-service palapa-roofed bar. You won't have trouble finding a place to sit—there are 22 lounge chairs around the property, and its open spaces mean they don't have to be bunched in a crowd.
There's much more of course—a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, a 120" rear-projection-screen TV (in a separate, splendidly appointed Media Room filled with Balinese art), a full gymnasium, FOUR dining areas—but trust us with this one, it's all good. Come to Villa La Laguna and live a little (or a lot).
