A first floor apartment set in the renowned village of Ambleside in the middle of the Lake District National Park. It was built in traditional Lakeland slate and offers basic, reasonably well equipped holiday accommodation. There are three bedrooms: 2 x double (one with washbasin), 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath with electric shower over, WC and washbasin. Fitted kitchen with dining area. Spacious sitting room with gas fire. Entrance hall. The property is perfectly placed, as the village amenities are all within walking distance. There is something for everyone whether you want to enjoy watersports or a cruise on Windermere, or visit the waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force! This is a great base to explore all that this stunning region has to offer. Please note: Cranford is situated above a restaurant in the heart of Ambleside on the Windermere to Keswick Road. About the area: Windermere 4 miles; Keswick 15 miles. Ambleside sits on the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England's largest lake, and makes an excellent base for touring the central Lakes with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley a short drive away. There is lots to do here - boat trips, cruises and watersports on Lake Windermere and plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead there is a short stretch of beach for you to enjoy, whilst a stroll in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will take you to the spectacular waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Apart from the Lake and the superb walking on offer, Ambleside is also renowned for its yearly rushbearing ceremony and the 17th Century 'Bridge House' and is one of the most photographed buildings in the whole of the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre. Amenities: Heating from gas fire and supplementary electric heaters. Gas cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine, colour TV, DVD player etc. Gas and electricity charged at cost from meter reading.
