Located in a peaceful and elevated position in the village of Dinorwig, on a mountain opposite Snowdon is this traditional, stone built semi-detached cottage. It is spacious and well equipped, the cottage is perfect for large parties with a large kitchen/diner and three bathrooms. It may be suitable for less abled guests as there are ground floor facilities and widened doors - please phone for more information. The cottage is finished to a high standard and has the use of an inglenook fireplace in the sitting room with cosy woodburning stove. There is also an attractive, enclosed terraced garden, inclusing garden furniture and a BBQ - perfect for a relaxing family break. Pretty Llanberis with its scenic pass and perfect walking is only 5 miles away by car (2 miles on foot), and Anglesey, with lots of sandy beaches, is only half an hour's drive. An excellent retreat at any time of the year. About the area: Llanberis 5 miles; Caernarfon 7 miles; Bangor 10 miles; Betws-y-Coed 17 miles. Dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis is in between two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris. Llanberis is actually something of a 'mecca' for walkers and climbers, it is the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made by train, the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or along one of the many walking routes to the summit. Every year, major racing events attract thousands to the area: The fast 'Snowdon Race' to the summit, held in July every year and The Snowdonia Marathon, held in October - a challenging 6 mile course that starts and finishes in Llanberis, circumnavigating the Snowdon Massif.
