A light and airy apartment over two floors, in the beautiful market town of Ulverston. It is situated on the main cobbled street, in an 18th Century listed building above a jeweller's shop. The apartment is well equipped and offer two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x single (with additional mattress on small stand - suitable for small child). Bathroom with corner spa bath (with power shower over), WC and basin. Well equipped spacious kitchen with breakfast bar. Comfortable sitting room overlooking the market street. Please note: Stairs up to bedrooms are steep. Guests can enjoy the spectacle of the twice weekly market and Ulverston makes an ideal base from which to explore the region. It is perfectly placed to reach all the attractions of the National Park, as well as the coast and various family destinations such as Eskdale Railway and the World of Beatrix Potter within easy touring distance. This is a warm and welcoming base for a holiday any time of the year. About the area: Lake Windermere 12 miles; Coniston Lake 12 miles. The old market town of Ulverston holds a street market on every Thursday and Saturday. It is renowned as a festival town with events throughout the entire year. One of the town's greatest claims to fame is that it is the birthplace of Stan Laurel and is now home to the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world! Amenities include a wide variety of shops, restaurants, pubs, a cinema and a leisure centre. Whilst a lot of Lakeland destinations have been developed beyond recognition, Ulverston has retained an authentic feel and community spirit. The attractions of the National Park are nearby. The Furness Coast has stunning sandy beaches and is good for birdwatching.
