This is one of three lovely properties set in the charming grounds of the Heaves Estate, on the rural outskirts of the Lakeland town of Kendal. These superbly renovated properties offer first-rate holiday accommodation in a magnificent setting, they are set in ten acres of formal gardens, parkland and woodland boasting a beautiful Garden Centre onsite.This is a wonderful, stone built, semi-detached cottage offering light and spacious accommodation. There are two bedrooms: 1 x king size double, 1 x family room with double and single bed. Splendid large bathroom with bath (shower over), WC and basin. Well equipped kitchen with dining area. Spacious and comfortable living room with living flame gas fire. Guests are free to wander around the estate, whilst evening drinks and meals are available to cottage guests in the hotel restaurant and bar. This is an ideal base for touring or just relaxing in the grandeur of this lovely estate. About the area: Kendal is an historic Lakeland town with a good reputation for shopping. It is nestled on the banks of River Kent and is renowned as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes. Its cobbled lanes and byways branch off the pretty main street, and the stone ruins of 12th Century Kendal Castle sit on a hill with lovely views over the town. Visit The Abbot Hall Art Gallery, holding portraits by Kendal born George Romney and works by Ruskin and Turner, with other exhibitions through its links with the Tate. Nearby are the Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its breathtaking Topiary Garden, as are limestone escarpments for walking, offering stunning views of the Lakeland Mountains, the Howgills and Morecambe Bay. Kendal itself is perfectly placed for exploring South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales. With many other attractions like the Kendal Museum and the Museum of Lakeland Life, Lake Windermere and the National Park all within easy reach, Kendal is a superb base for a relaxing break.
