This property one of two 17th Century Grade II listed barn conversions, set on the owners' working farm in the Dales National Park, 2 miles from Sedbergh, a new book town, and within easy reach of The Lake District. Knott View boasts outstanding views of the valley and dramatic Howgill Fells and has been superbly restored to offer spacious and comfortable accommodation. Surrounded by farmland, there are lovely footpaths right from the doorstep to Cautley Spout - Britain's highest waterfall, and on through Dentdale, while the local area is home to abundant wildlife such as pheasants and badgers. Within easy reach are the Farfield Art and Heritage Centre and the towns of Hawes and Dent. About the area: Kendal 12 miles; Hawes 15 miles. Sedbergh (pronounced Sed-Ber), is an ancient market town in northern Dentdale, just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The town has an olde worlde atmosphere with its narrow streets, traditional pubs, little shops, famous school dating back to 1536 and its 12th Century church. The jewel of the Yorkshire Dales - Dentdale, with its rolling hills and dry stone walls, stretches 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the confluence of the rivers Dee and Rawthey. At the centre of the dale is Dent, with cobbled streets, which has existed since Norman times. Nearby there are three golf courses, as well as tennis, fishing and riding, and the area is a true walker's paradise. This and the tranquillity of the surrounding valleys and the two National Parks, make a fantastic year-round holiday destination. Amenities: Full oil fired central heating.
