This attractive, semi detached 19th Century cottage is located in a quiet lane only 3 mins walk from the heart of Llanberis, the centre for mountain climbing and walking in North Wales. The cottage is in a perfect location to enjoy good restaurants and pubs, the amazing Electric Mountain Centre with the base of Mount Snowdon, the shores of beautiful Llyn Padarn with its boat trips and lakeside railway and the summit railway a mere 13 minutes walk away. An ideal base for enjoying Snowdonia, Conwy Castles, miles of nearby sandy beaches and Caernarfon. About the area: Caernarfon 7 miles; Bangor 10 miles; Betws-y-Coed 17 miles. Dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Peris and Llyn Padarn and is one of the most renowned mountain tourist centres in Snowdonia National Park. Llanberis is actually something of a 'mecca' for both walkers and climbers, being the start for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by foot along one of the many routes to the summit train or on the Snowdon Mountain Railway. Each year, major races attract thousands to the area: The fast 'Snowdon Race' to the summit, held in July and The Snowdonia Marathon, held in October - a gruelling 26 mile course that starts and finishes in Llanberis, circumnavigating the Snowdon Massif. Llanberis itself also offers excellent places to eat and drink and a wide variety of shopping. Only 7 miles from Llanberis, on the coast, is Caernarfon with its amazing Castle and town walls.
