Only 2 miles away, on the picturesque Glaslyn Estuary, there is the busy harbour town of Porthmadog, with a variety of individual shops and restaurants, there is also the Ffestiniog Railway where you should not miss the chance to travel by steam train through the stunning Snowdonia scenery. The beautiful village of Borth-y-Gest, with all of its cliffs and coves, is only within a short drive, and within easy touring distance is the celebrated and unique Italianate village of Portmeirion. Explore the castles at nearby Harlech, Criccieth and Caernarfon, or discover the slate caverns at Llechwedd.
