Llanrug is a small and quaint village which has two pubs and a shop in the foothills of the Snowdonia Mountain Range, just 3 miles from famous Llanberis. Visitors can spend time at the Piggery Pottery Workshop which is on-site, providing hours of fun for the whole family, whilst the Snowdonia National Park is available from the doorstep. There are many historic castles lining the nearby North Wales coast and the stunning sandy beaches and coastlines of the Lleyn Peninsula and within driving distance is the Isle of Anglesey. Dominated by the magnificence of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis has two lakes on either side, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris, and is one of the most renowned mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. Llanberis is indeed a 'mecca' for climbers and walkers, being the beginning of the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales.
