The pretty sandy beach is only a 2 minute walk down the road, passing a store, cafe and pub on the way. Explore Pembrey Country Park and find another lovely sandy beach, or try the dry ski slope or the toboggan run. Try heading in the opposite direction for a visit to Carmarthen where you will find shops, restaurants, pubs and superb tea rooms. Within easy reach of this lovely Ferryside cottage are numerous walks, Merlin's Hill Centre - steeped in mystery, the National Wetland Centre, the Millennium Cycle Trail, Folly Farm and Oakwood Theme Park. This is a perfect base for a holiday! About the area: Carmarthen 9 miles. Ferryside is a stunning coastal village with a beautiful sandy beach, caf, a general store, Post Office and pub. There are regular trains into the village providing easy travel to Carmarthen, Pembrey or Llanelli and plenty more attractions further away. Carmarthen is a bustling market town with various shops, restaurants, tea rooms and pubs. Take a visit to Pembrey Country Park, and its sandy beach, dry ski slope and toboggan run providing a great day out for the whole family, as is a day at Merlin's Hill Centre - shrouded in mystery and rich in wildlife. Within easy reach there are castles, craft centres and mills galore, whilst a trip to Laugharne to see Dylan Thomas' Boat House, or a day out at Folly Farm or Oakwood Theme Park are a must.
