A delightful, semi-detached cottage, in a peaceful area just below the brow of Stoup Hill on the edge of Ravenstonedale, just 5 miles from Kirkby Stephen. Part of the owners' 18th Century farmhouse, this quaint cottage has been lovingly restored to provide comfortable and cosy accommodation. The property has retained many original features, such as an original bread oven and cooking fireplace, now housing a multi-fuel stove, and stone steps leading to the first floor. There are two bedrooms: 1 x double with basin, 1 x family room with double bed & single bunk over. Ground floor bathroom with bath with shower over, WC and basin. Fitted kitchen. Sitting room with multi-fuel stove & dining area. The lovely large garden is ideal for relaxing and enjoying stunning views of the surrounding countryside. This is a superb holiday base. About the area: Kirkby Stephen 5 miles; Sedbergh 10 miles. Ravenstonedale is a tranquil village resting at the foot of the Howgill Fells, between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. It is a superb rural village with a thriving community and many traditional old dwellings, Ravenstonedale has a charming Parish Church and the remains of the old Gilbertine Priory. Hill farming is the main means of income in the area and as such there is an agricultural show held once a year. Once described by the famous author, A Wainwright, as one of Westmorland's loveliest villages, the area offers many walking and cycling routes, and the attractions nearby provide something for everybody. Visit the Settle to Carlisle Railway Line, the stunning Howgill Fells and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks. This is a superb location any time of the year.
