A superb, end terrace cottage, situated at the heart of the attractive village of Whittington, in-between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. There are excellent fishing and riding opportunities close by, as well as a choice of golf courses. The Cumbrian town of Kendal, and the lovely villages of Arnside, Sedbergh and Settle offer a brilliant day out. A perfect location, all through the year. About the area: Whittington is a pretty, unspoilt village quietly resting in the picturesque Lune Valley, between the magnificent Lake District and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The village consist of traditional stone built dwellings, and has a welcoming local pub and a lovely 15th Century church, which stands on an ancient site of a motte and bailey castle. There are numerous scenic walks from the village taking you across stunning rolling countryside to pictorial villages, which provide fantastic views over the Lakeland Fells and northern Dales. Nearby Hutton Roof Crags Nature Reserve, boasting one of the most impressive areas of limestone habitat in Britain, and is home to a variety of plant life, butterflies and birds. Also within easy reach is the ancient market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, and its attractive 17th and 18th Century architecture and renowned Devil's Bridge, offering many distinctive shops and a good selection of fine pubs and restaurants.
