The town offers a good variety of quaint shops and many hotels, while the white cliffs and superb beaches at Freshwater Bay attract visitors all year. The famous Freshwater Bay Golf Club, overlooking the English Channel, offers an excellent day out for golfers of all abilities, while the surrounding area is a haven for cyclists, walkers and bird watchers, with a wealth of wonderful walks to be enjoyed over the Afton and Tennyson Downs. Visit the Dimbola Photographic Museum in Freshwater Bay, Needles Pleasure Park with its coloured sand cliffs, or, a little further away, the premier yachting centre of Cowes. With the seaside town of Yarmouth nearby and its sandy beaches, pier, shops, eateries and majestic Tudor castle, this truly is an ideal base for an enjoyable holiday.
