It has a woodburning stove in the cosy sitting room, welcoming after a day spent walking the This charming, stone built, terraced cottage lies in the picturesque village of sandy beaches or fishing villages of the area. Embleton has a choice of welcoming pubs and the ruins of a mighty castle, or follow the grassy pathway from the village green to the pleasant village of Craster, home of the well known oak cured kipper. Visit the fabulous market town of Alnwick, with its impressive castle and gardens or enjoy a peaceful, coastal walk to nearby Dunstanburgh Castle. Within easy reach are the harbour, shops and pubs of the popular resort of Seahouses, whilst the beautiful Cheviot Hills provide superb walking opportunities. An ideal base from which to explore the coastline and spectacular countryside that this amazing location has to offer. About the area: The pretty village of Embleton is perfectly placed for exploring one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A stunning grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, next to the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Ther are four village pubs in Embleton itself, two of which serve food, and there is an outstanding range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. Noted for their beauty are the gardens at nearby Howick Hall which are open during the summer, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the dedicated golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several exceptional courses in the vicinity.
