A traditional stone-built detached cottage located in the owner's grounds, and only a short walk from the centre of the town of Blairgowrie. This lovely cottage, renovated to a high standard, has well-equipped, relaxing accommodation with a spacious living area and two charming bedrooms. The second largest town in Perthshire, Blairgowrie has a large array of bars, shops and restaurants, or a stroll along the river Ericht will lead you to the start of the sixty mile circular Cateran Trail, which follows the drove roads used by cattle rustlers and brigands. If you enjoy skiing, then try Glen Shee, the most spectacular and well known of the Angus glens, while excellent hiking and mountain biking routes are available in summer. With beautiful walks from the doorstep and the amenities of the town just a short stroll, this is a perfect Blairgowrie cottage all year round. About the area: Perth 16 miles; Dundee 19 miles. Located on the banks of the River Ericht is the red stone town of Blairgowrie, where it comes out from stunning gorges in Strathmore. Good shops and great restaurants, makes it a perfect base for exploring Perthshire and the beautiful Angus Glens. Bordered by rolling fields well known for their raspberries - the town is overlooked by hills and mountains, and is home to Scotland's biggest skiing centre at Glenshee. It has excellent terrain for riding, cycling and walking, whilst golfers are well-catered for with excellent courses (including Rosemount) locally and St Andrews and Gleneagles within easy reach. Be amazed at the world's tallest hedge at Meikleour (600m long and 30m high), see Meigle's collection of Pictish stone sculptures, or listen to exciting tales at Glamis Castle, the setting for 'Macbeth' and said to be Scotland's most haunted castle!
