The Sheiling, decorated and furnished to a high standard, with patio doors to the garden, three bedrooms and two bathrooms, is perfect for those looking for a lustrous option to the usual Scottish holiday cottages. Only two hours from Edinburgh and an hour from Inverness, the apartment is not far from Loch Ness, Fort William, Ben Nevis and the western Isles. An active holiday may well include golfing, fishing, pony trekking, mountain biking and water sports. For those less energetic, there is bird watching and wildlife, the Strathspey Steam Railway and the Speyside Whisky Trail. With Aviemore, the centre of the snowsport industry in Britain only 16 miles away, The Sheiling is a perfect holiday location, with something for every member of the party. About the area: Kingussie 3 miles; Inverness 47 miles. Newtonmore , which overlooks the River Spey in the Cairngorms National Park (Britain's largest), has numerous shops and pubs, as well as the Newtonmore Craft Centre and two brilliant, award-winning museums. Around the edge of the village is Newtonmore's 'Wildcat Trail', a 7-mile popular circular walk, taking in the River Spey with woodland, moorland and fantastic views across the valley to the Cairngorms, and behind the village to the Monadhliath mountains - a perfect introduction to the wonders of the National Park. On offer in the area is fine golf, fishing, pony trekking, walking, bird-watching, cycling, mountain-biking, climbing and skiing, which makes it an excellent base from which to discover everything this scenic area of Scotland has to offer.
