A traditional cottage in a quaint hamlet, only 3 miles from Abbey St Bathans and 7 miles from Duns. This superb holiday cottage is a lovely refurbishment of an old farm cottage in a wonderfully peaceful location, with open countryside and walks directly from the door. Well-equipped and furnished in keeping with the original style of the cottage. There are two bedrooms: 2 x double. Ground floor bathroom with bath, shower over, WC and basin. Fitted kitchen with dining area with wood burning stove. Sitting room with open fire. Within sight of the cottage is The Southern Upland Way, with the dramatic Lammamuir Hills, which makes it perfect for walking enthusiasts. The surrounding area offers fishing, golf, tennis, shooting, riding, bird watching and sailing on the Whiteadder Reservoir. You can enjoy the beautiful coastline with miles of sandy beaches just a short drive away. This is a lovely cottage with plenty to do and see during your stay. About the area: Duns 7 miles. Berwick-upon-Tweed 15 miles. The quaint border town of Duns is located in a wide valley known as The Merse and used to be the capital of the Scottish Borders, when the current capital, Berwick-upon-Tweed, was under English rule. The town provides a good range of shops, restaurants and pubs. There are many historic houses and castles scattered throughout the surrounding area, such as Floors Castle and Gardens, the biggest inhabited house in Scotland, Norham Castle located on the River Tweed, Mellerstain House and Paxton House and Country Park. Only a short drive away to the east coast is the opportunity to explore the beaches at Coldingham, and excellent golfing at Dunbar, whilst the nearby town of Berwick-upon-Tweed is definitely worth a visit! Edinburgh is just 40 minutes away by car and plenty of other destinations within the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland are just waiting to be discovered.
