A charming converted semi-detached barn, located on the owner's cattle and sheep farm, near the village of Winster, just 6 miles from Matlock. This property is a real delight, skilfully converted, combining many old features, such as beautiful old cruck beams, with modern facilities to provide a comfortable and stylish holiday home. There are beautiful views of the rolling countryside, a spacious patio area, perfect for dining al fresco and enjoying the sunsets. This is an ideal get-away, while enjoying a welcome break in the countryside. Being a historic village, Winster is a delight to explore, with its 17th and 18th Century buildings, traditional pubs, and a small selection of shops. Within easy reach are the towns of Ashbourne, Matlock and Bakewell. Perfect for a romantic break, or for a small family, this lovely retreat is an excellent base for exploring and touring the Peak District National Park and visiting nearby Alton Towers and Haddon Hall. A charming, pretty place with a 17th Century market house and other imposing 18th Century houses, comprising three storeys, on the three main streets - West Bank, Main Street, and East Bank. Although less dignified, but still endearing, are the little 'ginnels or alleyways off Main Street, and are well worth exploring. The village is renown for its Wakes festivities (every June),Morris dancers, and the annual Shrove Tuesday pancake race - a spectacular spectacle! A well stocked grocer's shop, a Gift Shop/ Post Office and two pubs - both serving local traditional beers and food are within the village. Matlock, Chatsworth and Bakewell, and are all close by and, for enthusiastic walkers, the village is situated within 5 miles of the The Limestone Way and Tissington and High Peaks walking/cycling trails.
