Buxton 8 miles; Glossop 5 miles. Hayfield, a delightful High Peak village, is located in a superb rural setting on the north western edge of the Peak National Park. It's a quiet little village, attracting walkers drawn by its close proximity to Kinder Scout. The enthusiastic walkers head east, via the green foothills, to the russet expanse of the Kinder Plateau. Families, and those who enjoy more gentle rambles, head west along the stunning Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills. Edale, the start off the Pennine Way, is merely a few miles away. The village caters well for tourists with cafes, restaurants and pubs. Other local attractions include the popular spa town of Buxton and the Goyt Valley, Castleton, with its famous caverns. This delightful, stone built, lovingly renovated 19th Century terraced cottage has two bedrooms: 1 x king size double, (spacious, with stunning views) 1 x single, a ground floor bathroom with bath, shower over and basin. There is a WC and basin on the first floor. The warm and cosy sitting room boasts a wood-burning stove with a dining area. A well equipped kitchen has access to the rear garden; perfect for dining outside. Serious and not-so-serious walkers can enjoy numerous walks from the doorstep, the lovely village with its array of old traditional pubs, as well as the start of the Pennine Way, are all within walking distance. A perfect cottage to unwind, relax, and enjoy this lovely area. Touring opportunities to nearby Castleton, Buxton, and Bakewell are all well worth visiting and Chatsworth House and gardens are definitely not to be missed.
