This is a superb stone built property, that has been carefully converted from former stables, located in a raised position in the grounds of the owner's farm in the peaceful hamlet of Wycliffe, only 5 miles from Barnard Castle. The cottage provides light and spacious accommodation, with many original exposed beams, and a handsome open fireplace in the sitting room. About the Area: The lovely market town of Barnard Castle is located in the unspoilt countryside of Teesdale in County Durham. The town rests on the site of an ancient Roman ford which crosses the river. The medieval ruins of the castle tower over the river and are definitely worth a visit. Known affectionately as 'Barney' by visitors and residents, the town has cobble streets, yards and back lanes that were laid out in the 12th century. Magnificent walking country is offered right on the doorstep with The Pennine and Teesdale Ways, the River Tees and stunning waterfalls at High Force all within easy reach.
