This country house self catering accommodation is in a peaceful location, but within easy reach of the M6 motorway and twenty minutes away from a mainline railway station Oxenholme Lake district. It is surrounded by unspoilt English countryside, ideal for walking, cycling and exploration by car. It is a short drive from the main Lake District fells and Yorkshire Dales - the best of both worlds - and the Cumbrian towns of Appleby and Kendal. Charles Stuart combines the benefit of being part of a beautiful old hall with the privacy of a separate wing with its own entrance. It has a large, comfortable lounge with dining facilities, TV, video, DVD, stereo and plenty of books. Some DVDs, videotapes and CDs are provided for you to use during your stay, but feel free to bring your own.
From the spacious hallway, you have access to well-equipped kitchen with electric induction hob and double oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and all the pots and pans you could need.
There is one spacious master bedroom with a king size bed, a twin bedroom and a fold up bed. You have a bathroom with WC, washbasin, bidet and shower and a shower room with WC and wash basin. There are lovely views from all the windows including a fabulous arched window in the hallway.A well appointed shower room with WC and washbasin leads off the spacious hallway.
Staying at orton hall gives you full access to these extensive grounds with lawns, mature trees, flowerbeds, woods and a pond and sitting areas. You also have use of the large, communal, oak panelled lounge in the hall with log fire, piano and snooker table. The hall dates back to 1662 and has the atmosphere of an elegant, country mansion. It has been carefully refurbished and modernised to give modern comfortable facilities, whilst retaining its historical charm. A laundry room with automatic washer and tumble drier are available.
