Calvados holiday house: Balleroy

'Rene' is a well furnished and comfortable family home with great character which sleeps up to 8 people. It has central heating so that you can enjoy the riches of the area in any season. There are wonderful views to the rear of the house over the château ground and the Cerisy forest (lovely in winter when the trees are covered in frost) and the south facing patio with its traditional stone walls, makes a wonderful setting for meals ‘al fresco’. The central heated accommodation includes: On the ground floor; A well equipped breakfast kitchen with gas cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, electric kettle and toaster. Comfortable and newly decorated lounge/dining room with rustic stone fireplace. There is an antique pine dining table and two settees. There is also an antique pine china cabinet and captain’s chair. A high chair is available for tiny guests! TV with video player and DVD is available (not connected to live tele).

Shower room and separate toilet with a laundry area and automatic washing machine. French doors lead to a balcony from which there are lovely views. Stone steps lead down to a sunny walled patio with newly landscaped gardens leading down to the stream. An antique polished wood staircase (may not be suitable for the elderly or the very young!) leads to the first floor. A large double bedroom with double bed (king size duvet), pine wardrobe and chest of drawers. A twin room with two single beds, a chest of drawers and a hanging rail. There are lovely views from the windows of both these bedrooms. A pretty single bedroom with single bed (guest bed under), wardrobe, bookcase and chest of drawers. Fourth bedroom with wooden cot converting to junior bed (please bring own cot bedding). A fold down bed is stored in the main bedroom to be used as required.
