The Old Mill House is a charming 18th Century grade II listed building on the edge of the village of Old Bedhampton. The property is situated between a 3-acre lake and a tidal stream. In this house in 1819 John Keats finished his poem 'The Eve of St. Agnes' and here in 1820 he spent his last night in England.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The Old Mill House is available for weekends from Friday to Monday and Bank Holidays Friday to Tuesday. Full Week letting only at Christmas, New Year, for the last week of July and in August.

    Pets will normally be allowed subject to permission being given in writing and payment of a charge of £16 per week per pet.

    Payment of one quarter of the rent is to be made on booking. The balance of the rent is to be paid two months before the beginning of the letting together with a deposit of 250 pounds plus an additional 50 pounds if heating of the pool is required. The balance of the deposit is returnable after the property has been left in a clean and tidy condition, the keys have been returned and charges for gas and electricity used during the letting have been deducted.

Drawing Room, 25' double aspect room looking over lake and river with French doors to terrace. Marble fireplace. Sitting/TV room, with wood burning stove, and board games. Dining room, large dining table seating 16 people.

Kitchen/Breakfast Room, electric cooker, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and microwave. Conservatory, with views over swimming pool and lake. Utility room, with washing machine/ drying room.

Outdoor heated swimming pool available from end of May until end of September.

Location and Getting There:

The village of Old Bedhampton, is equidistant between Portsmouth and Chichester and 1 mile from the sea. It takes about 1hr 10 minutes by train from Waterloo and under 2 hours by car from central London.
