The Lodge has one double, one single and nine twin bedrooms (one may be arranged as a double), and 6 bathrooms including one/two en suite. The drawing room and dining rooms are large. There is a rod and gun room, a drying room, a playroom with table tennis table, a pool table room and a children’s sitting room. There is a video player, a CD/tape/radio music player and free-to-air TV. The large kitchen has a double Aga, electric cooker, microwave, lots of fridges. a freezer, two dishwashers, washing machine and tumble dryer. The Lodge has electric heating throughout. There is a large, enclosed garden and adjacent wood with paths leading to the rest of the Estate.
Stalking: The Estate is home to around 500 hinds with a number of stags also in permanent residence and many more attracted in the rutting season. This lasts roughly from mid-September to mid-October and a few stags are available to be taken in July and August. Around 35-40 stags are culled each season.
The estate is able to offer two 4 stag weeks and two 10 stag weeks for serious stalkers. In the 10 stag weeks, two parties can be taken out on the hill each day. Hind stalking is available on a daily or weekly basis from October to February.
For anglers, there are brown trout and sea trout and the chance of a salmon on 3km of the River Carron and Loch Sgamhain and trout in a further hill loch. A boat is available on Loch Sgamhain.
For lovers of wildlife, there are resident eagles, red grouse, ptarmigan, snipe, woodcock, mountain hare, pine martens, otters, badgers, foxes, red and roe deer and moles.
Travel: Between Easyjet and BA there are four or more flights a day to Inverness from London. The flight time is 1 hour and 10 minutes. Trains go to Inverness and connect to Achnasheen Station about 5 miles from the Estate. Car hire is available at Inverness. Flights also to Edinburgh, Aberdeen etc.
