This welcoming old farmhouse with stone barn, is thought to have been built during the reign of Napoleon I. It is built in typical Burgundian style with the front entrance at first floor level, reached by a covered flight of ancient stone steps. The extensive gardens of 3000 sq m are fully enclosed by traditional dry stone walls and gates, making them a safe playground for children. You enter the house into the large living room with its original beams, open fireplace, dining area seating 8 and a new fully fitted kitchen, with 5 ring gas hob, electric oven, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle and food processor. There is a television, DVD and video and a selection of films to suit all ages, plus a music centre with tapes and CDs with a variety of music and an assortment of books and magazines.
An oak staircase leads from the living room up to the family bedroom with ensuite wc, which is divided by massive beams.
There is a built-in safety gate at the top which, along with the king size bed, and two children’s beds, make this a perfect family room. A few steps up from the rear of the living room is the light and airy second king size bedroom with views into the garden. The third bedroom, with two twin beds, is reached by stairs down to the ground floor. This was constructed out of the old bread oven and is therefore known as the ‘four’ and has the advantage of its own entrance directly into the garden.
There is a separate toilet and a large fully fitted bathroom with washing machine and change table. A travel cot, change mat, baby bath, high chair and microwave bottle sterilizer can be provided if requested. The nearest supermarket is in St Leger, some 6 kms away, this is also open on a Sunday morning and has a small petrol station supplying bottled gas. For bread there is a delivery every morning (except Wednesday), the van stops at the bottom of the drive.
There are also local bread shops in Dennevy and St Léger.
