Podere Luciana is a holiday house with three great rustic apartments in a spectacularly beautiful setting. Every apartment has its own terrace, which can be reached directly from the kitchen. There is plenty of space and even a spring, barbecue, pizza oven, a shaded recreation area with a table tennis table, naturally the property has a large pool. Podere Luciana is a stone house that dates back over 200 years in close proximity to the village of Lisciano Niccone. Its owner, who paid close attention to detail, lovingly restored it maintaining all the rustic elements, such as the traditionally timbered ceiling and the stone chimney. Traditional paintings and artefacts are reflected within the property. There is an extensively large garden available for use by guests, and every apartment has its own individual balcony.

Many activities take place in and around Lago Trasimeno. It is Italy’s forth-largest lake measuring 22 km across in diameter with 11 individual beaches. Around the lake one can enjoy water sports, walking, cycling. The area is famous for its wines, olive oils and home made pastas. . Excursions on foot or by bicycle pose other opportunities to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and countryside. There are 8 public bathing sites at Lake Trasimeno. From there one can take the ferry to 2 or 3 islands, go for walks or perhaps follow in the footsteps of St.Francis of Assisi on Isola Maggiore. The old town of Castiglione del Lago is located on a peninsula that juts out into the lake. There are many excellent restaurants to choose from here. Castiglione del Lago was awarded the title Cittá Slow (A special award that recognizes a high quality of life). There is a weekly market where the local gentlemen gather together and gossip while their wives leisurely shop.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Accommodation weeks run from Saturday to Saturday and include linen, water, electricity, and gas unless otherwise stated. Arrival times are between 4 pm – 8 pm and departure times are between 8 am – 11 am.

    The heating costs and housekeeping fees are paid directly to the landlord and are dependent on usage please be aware heating costs are expensive in Italy.

    Almost all landlords require a security deposit between 100 € and 250 €. The full balance of the deposit will be returned at the end of stay provided that the property is in the same condition as when you arrived and there are no damaged/ broken items.

    All linens should be returned in the same number and conditions on departure if they are not the landlords have the right to keep the deposit at their discretion.

You can sit in a variety of shaded areas whilst the children play football or table tennis in absolute safety. An outdoor barbecue and pizza oven make outside cooking a truly memorable experience. There is a large pool (14 x 7 meters) A spectacular forest lies adjacent to the property and is a perfect place for a walk for adults and children alike. The forest offers the opportunity to explore nature at is best and is a great place for adventure. In front of the house there is a beautiful view of the surrounding valley and the wooded hills of this breathtaking region. Please note that the house can only be let as a whole between May & September. Podere Luciana has three apartments. The largest, Michel Angelo caters for 4-5 persons and is on the ground floor of the house. It has 2 bedrooms, a large living room with fireplace, a bathroom and a small yet well furnished kitchen.

Belvedere and Sole each accommodates for 4-5 persons, access to each of the apartments is via the ground floor. Both apartments offer 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, fireplace, and balcony. The two apartments are connected via doorways that can be opened on request. Heating is available in all of the apartments if required. The surrounding area has much to offer, including medieval villages, historic castles, and monasteries that all will provide exceptionally memorable viewing. The Closest towns are the renowned Mercatale, Umbertide (which hosts a market every Wednesday), Tuoro, Castiglione del Lago, and also there are regular opportunities to visit the islands of Lago Trasimeno, Cortona, Perugia, Gubbio, Arezzo, Assisi, and Montepulciano. All year round there are numerous festivals in the nearby villages and cities. Information on all these events, in addition to sports, hiking and cycling are freely available in Tuoro or Castiglione at the tourist information centres.
