Quiet and home-like.

Unlike many rental apartments, which have that empty, bare essentials-decor, basic kitchen equpiment and no more feeling, this property is like staying in the apartment of friends who have gone away and left it for you. Everything you need - baking paper, spices, plastic tubs to store left-overs in the refrigerator - is there. If you are the sort of holiday maker who likes to stay in some nights and cook your own dinner, this is perfect.
We were in the largest apartment - two bedrooms. It has a very comfortable kitchen, sitting room, and two bedrooms - twin and double-bed. The access to the double-bed room is up a rather tricky flight of stairs. I did not slip, but always worried I might. As it is in the attic, with a sloping roof, there is little head-room.
The bathroom is fine though I found it slightly awkward getting in and out of the bath-tub (The shower is over it) - it is right next to the toilet and there's not a lot of space to manouevre. Also, it wasn't until the end of my week's stay that I managed to shower without spraying the floor and the toilet with water. The water tends towards tepid, rather than hot, but is not too bad.
These two small gripes aside, it is a perfect holiday spot for me. Very quiet at night; out of the way - but only just enough to be quiet - from the main streets. The trams and train connections are super and easy to work - Munich has a marvellous public transport system.
The only negative experience I had was the local laundrette - a 24-hour, very run down, rough sort of place. A couple of disagreeable people were there when I was trying to use it - all the instructions are in German, by the way, which made it difficult for me. You need many coins. And the central machine that takes the coins often will take a One Euro, say, and register Zero. A very nice German in the laundrette told me it often malfunctions like this, which is good for the owners, but no good for the poor users.
The owners/hosts are charming, friendly people. Gabrielle was most concerned when I told her about my laundrette experience and offered to toss any laundry into her machine. She's lovely and she and Josef really made our stay comfortable and settled and easy.
I would stay there again, if they could fit me in. This is a very busy property (though you never hear or see anyone else, really) and popular with return guests. I can see why.
Owner's Response: We thank for the kind, long, and also critical words! They really support us, and give us energy for our future guests.
Regarding laundrette we can recommend to our guests another one, a little bit farer from our house, but better managed. Please ask us!
We look forward to you to be our future guests. It will be a great pleasure for us to have you with us!
Josef & Gabriele
