Set in the picturesque village of Eskdale, Damson Cottage is a fantastic cottage with splendid views across to the fells. It is handy for both the pub and the village shop, there are also hundreds of walks right from the front door either on the fells or along the banks of the River Esk, which flows from the top of the valley down to the estuary at Ravenglass, an old fishing village complete with a ruined Roman bath-house. The famous Ravenglass & Eskdale Miniature Railway runs along the valley, its steam trains making the leisurely seven-mile journey down to the sea - Irton Road station is just a short walk from the Cottage. There are five pubs in the valley (the Bower House Inn is just a five minute walk away), all welcoming children and serving real ales and a wide choice of good food. The village shop is just a ten minute walk away and sells a compprehensive range of goods, including groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, food to go, alcohol, newspapers and outdoor clothing.

The lounge at Miterdale Cottage is lovely and cosy with an open fire, comfortable sofas and chairs, TV & DVD player and pictures of Ravenglass on the walls in days gone by. From the sitting room is the kitchen which is equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer and storage space. There is a coffee plunger if you like fresh coffee in the morning and the village shop is a two minute walk down the road to get the newspaper. There is also a dining area in the kitchen which looks out through french windows onto the back patio area and the sea beyond. Upstairs there is a large double bedroom and a twin bedroom (photos to follow). There is also a bathroom with toilet, basin and a bath with an electric shower above it. Outside is a patio area with raised decking and the beach & sea immediately beyond. This is a fantastic place to sit and watch the sun go down. A barbeque is provided.

The house is heated with electric storage heaters which is included in the price. The beds are freshly made up for you, please note that you need to bring your own towels.
