In the charming Roman Provence spa of Greoux-les-Bains near the Verdon gorges and lakes, you will be staying in a newly renovated three floor cottage (comfortably sleeping four to six) with easy access to the rich and colourful Provençal towns and villages, alive with their cultural festivals, famous markets, village fairs and sports in and around the Verdon gorges and lakes (Riez, Moustiers, Saint Croix, Esparron). Southfacing, from the balcony you will look tranquilly over colourful rooftops to the lively village below and the alpine foothills at the head of the Verdon gorges.

The village itself offers attractions that belie its size. Since it is a spa, albeit a small exclusive one from the Roman to Napoleonic times (the sisters of both Octavius Caesar and Bonaparte were frequent visitors) it combines the charm and quiet of a village setting with the liveliness of a holiday location. In the village bars you'll appreciate the frequent evening entertainment, modern and traditional orchestras, singers and festivities. Or you may decide to walk up to the castle (2 mins walk) for an evening concert or theatre play (during the summer months), or indeed if you take a stroll through the centre of village you can browse through the boutiques which are open late whilst you ponder on the culinary nature of your evening meal from amongs the restaurants in the village centre and along the road to the thermal baths. Unless of course you wish to take in a film at the local cinema, which has a change of programme every evening.
