Four bedrooms and a spacious open plan living area are all accomodated within this former Sunday school. Converted sympathetically and with great care to maintain the original features, this is unique holiday living. The quality of the furnishings makes Schoolhouse truly a home from home. An ideal holiday location with 2 Blue flag beaches at Tunnels Ilfracombe 2 miles away and 15 minutes away from England's finest family beach (with lifeguards) Woolacombe. Barnstaple 20 mins, walker's favourite Heddon Valley/Hunters Inn 20 mins, Lynton and Lynmouth 25 mins The Schoolhouse is above all a family holiday home used by the owners in quiet periods and as such it is exceptionally kept and not advertised extensively. The feedback from guests is exceptional and we are proud of our repeat visitors and their compliments

Berrynarbor sits high in the beautiful Sterridge valley and is a regular winner of britain in bloom awards, gold most recently in 2008. White painted thatched cottages are decorated with flowerpot characters and gardens are spectacular. Nearby the village of Combe Martin has a very pretty beach with rock pools to explore. Don't miss the famous Pack of Cards pub with it's excellent beer garden. The Royal Marine has a carvery most nights. The family owned Village Bakery now supplies its delicious bread pastries and cakes to Berrynarbor PO. Combe also has its own Dinosaur park attraction. Watermouth Castle is a marvellous children orientated original castle/theme park just a short walk beyond the Sawmill pub towards Ilfracombe.   • Normally a Saturday changeover and housekeeper service. Discounts for any 2 week stay (except July and August) and also for short breaks. Returnable Bond £250

    Discount for returning visitors. Vacate at 10.00am. Arrive from 3.00 pm. Children should be at least 6 to sleep in the top bunk. Sorry- No Pets Please ring us for any further information or unusual requests and we will try and accommodate you.

    Please support the Berrynarbor community post office which is uniquely owned by the villagers. A wide range of superb organic local produce including freshly baked bread, cakes, eggs bacon sausages pies pasties, jams marmalades fruit and veg are on sale all reasonably priced. Manned by helpful village volunteers and a very efficient manager. Please help and do your bit to keep this vital village lifeline in business. The PO relies on your help when visiting so that the villagers can have the benefit of a lifeline in the weeks when you are not there. Don't just buy a newspaper!

School House is a modern airy conversion of the former United Reform Chapel used in later life as a sunday school. Downstairs accommodation is open plan with spacious living dining and kitchen areas. Dishwasher, washer dryer and fridge freezer are provided as are all tourism council 5 star requirement kitchen facilities. From the lounge area there is a room height door and an 8ft picture window leading out onto the terrace where the afternoon and evening sun falls. Here you can enjoy the tranquility of Devon with fantastic valley views. Upstairs many architectural features have been incorporated into the four bedroom accommodation. The master bedroom has an en-suite power shower and there is a family bathroom with power shower and bath. There are two double beds, two twin beds in the third bedroom and bunk beds in the fourth. Parking for 3-4 vehicles is available to the front and side of schoolhouse.

Nearby you can enjoy the fine food on offer at Miss Muffets tea rooms and the excellent facilities at the 17th century Ye olde Globe pub which has a spacious childrens room and play area and is featured in the Camra real ale guide. The Lodge Hotel to the rear of School House has a fine restaurant open to non-residents and has limited self catering accommodation should your party exceed 8. The Sawmill pub at Watermouth Cove is a pleasant half mile walk for a further dining out option as is Sandy Cove Hotel with superb views from the terrace and Combe Martin has much to offer just a mile away. Sport? Surfing at Croyde Woolacombe, Golf at Ilfracombe and at several nearby links courses along the coast, Ten Pin Bowling at Golden Beach Woolacombe open to non residents, Tennis at the brand new indoor and outdoor Tarka tennis centre in Barnstaple. Tarka Trail family cycling day(s) out from Braunton. New for 2008 Broadband and Sky TV including sports channels.

Changeover day is Saturday in the main school hols but we can accommodate Fridays if required/available
