The perfect family holiday in South-West France

After spending weeks trawling the internet for that all allusive French holiday home (the one in the perfect location, reasonably-priced and with all facilities laid on) this was the only gite that 'ticked all our boxes'.
The graceful owners, Graham and Belinda were on-hand to provide unobtrusive help during our stay and the gite was fully equipped with absolutely everything thoroughly thought about in order to provide for the most relaxing holiday. The very generous welcome pack was most appreciated (as we arrived late on Saturday night), but we found to our delight that even the supermarkets locally were open on Sunday morning.
The gite itself was beautifully presented and clean. The two bathrooms (one separate, one en-suite) were much appreciated by our family and the rooms were very airy and cool when wishing to escape the heat of the day. There was an abundance of tourist literature in the gite, and the owners had compiled a wealth of information on the amenities and attractions of the surrounding area, incorporating the reviews, thoughts and recommendations of previous guests, as well as their own. A well-stocked library of books was also available.
The large pool was perfect for our family of four. We have fond memories of sunbathing next to vines of succulent grapes, whilst watching the bees floating between the heather bushes and with only the sounds of crickets to disturb us. We dined in the huge, immaculately-kept gardens and walked between the nearby fields of sunflowers with butterflies swirling around us. Our young children loved the toys provided and could even watch their 'Cbeebies' programme in the evening. For peace of mind, the wireless internet provided kept us in touch with home and business whilst away.
The location of the gite in the little village of Rouillac certainly makes for easy day trips into the Lot and Quercy region of France and the nearby village of Montcuq has a fabulous weekend market with its supermarkets, shops and restaurants close by.
If you are looking for true luxury in South-west France for a 'down-to-earth' price, then look no further than 'Berty Gite'.
We will not forget our stay in this beautiful and immaculate accommodation, and hope to return soon. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality during our stay.
