2 Pen-y-Bryn is a semi-detached stone cottage built in 1851 which has been fully refurbished in traditional country style. Set in a cluster of houses on a hillside in the village of Rhyd, (approx 4 miles from Penrhyndeudraeth) the cottage overlooks the countryside, amongst lakes, mountains and the glorious scenery of Snowdonia National Park with distant views over Harlech Castle. The south facing mature secluded garden is enclosed by a dry stone wall. Pen-y-Bryn is in an ideal location for holidaymakers to experience the diversity and beauty of North Wales with unique mountains and varied beaches surrounding the cottage in every direction.

Easier walks to be found on woodland paths wrapping around beautiful lakes only 0.5 miles away. Ffestiniog Railway - can be heard whistling its way around the cottage and stopping at the popular Tan-y-Bwlch station (0.5 miles away). Welsh Castles - Harlech, Criccieth and further a field Caernarfon and Penryn. Historic towns, craft shops and local pubs - Portmerion, the fantasy world created by local architect Clough Williams Ellis (4 miles), along with the tourist centres of Beddgelert and Betwsycoed. Beaches - extensive sands of Morfa Bychan or the smaller coves of Borth y Guest and further on to the Lleyn Peninsular and Shell Island. Archaeology - the fascinating working mines of Blaenau Ffestiniog.

The cottage has been furnished in tradional style offering comfortable accommodation with many period pieces of welsh furniture. Each of the three bedrooms have good quality beds, with the master bedroom including a kingsize white brass bed. Brand new full size bunkbeds and a further 4ft brass bed (ground floor) complete the accommodation for 5/6 people. The lounge offers comfortable seating with two 3 seater sofas and an armchair. A main feature of the cottage is the original slate inglenook fireplace which houses a large log burning stove. There is cable television in both the lounge & master bedroom, along with a dvd player in the lounge. The countrystyle kitchen/diner has french doors leading onto a large slate terrace at the rear of the property - a unique spot for morning & evening sun and offering wonderful views over the Moelwyn. The large wood paneled bathroom includes a full size white bathroom suite and overhead shower.

A utility room offers further storage/shelving space and a new automatic washer/dryer. There is a free standing freezer in the cupboard under the stairs. Every room has a night storage heater, the cottage is fully double glazed and well insulated. Outside - a pretty slate table has been built to create a sitting area within the walled terrace, futher garden furniture is stored in the cottage. The stone built BBQ and enclosed circular lawn area create an attractive cottage garden environment.
