'Mirathon' is a 17thC farmhouse and is made up of four carefully restored individual gites. Each gite has its own kitchen, living room, bathroom(s) bedrooms and a private patio or balcony. This ensures when groups or families take the whole property for their holiday they can have as much privacy as they want or be totally communal - ideal for meals as there is group seating for 30 people. Each gite has been restored decorated and furnished to a high standard retaining many of its original stone walls and exposed beams. They offer relaxed and comfortable accommodation with added benefits of fully fitted kitchens, modern bathrooms, well furnished sitting rooms and comfortable bedrooms. Often described as the French Tuscany this tranquil area in the quiet countryside is only 4kms from the bastide town of Duras and is surrounded by activities suitable for all ages. You can easily fill your days exploring, sightseeing or merely relaxing on the sunny terrace of the 11x5 Roman pool.

The attractions of the Lot-et-Garonne are well known - the rivers, the chateaux, the scenery, the ancient towns and villages and the gastronomy. Steeped in history you are ideally placed to enjoy the best of this wonderful area with many local day and evening markets, fabulous child friendly restaurants catering for all tastes (do not miss the duck served in so many different ways) and of course wine tasting as Duras is very close to the appelations of Bordeaux, Graves, St Emilion and not to be missed are the amazing sweet wines of Monbazillac and Sauternes. Golf enthusiasts will love the renowned Chateau de Vigiers course (30 mins) and other courses nearby. If they wish to venture away from 'home' children can happily spend a day at the nearby Aqua Park or should the unthinkable happen, rain an undercover play park or go bowling. Not to be missed out of any itinerary is Bergerac with its fine old buildings and trips along the Dordogne, kayaking is a great family activity.

The pool is often the focal point of the holiday and here it is fully enclosed and alarmed. It has steps at one end and gently slopes down to a depth of 2m. Surrounded by a riot of flowers and the shade afforded by the banana trees there are plenty of sun-loungers, chairs, parasols for your comfort. The total area of Mirathon is one hectare so there is masses of space to spread around, play games, sunbathe or relax under the shade of the mature trees. The gites sleep eight, five/seven, four (two adults and two children as there are bunk beds) and four and extra beds can be provided as well as cots.
