A good base for family or friends holidaying together.

South-west of Cherbourg, between Les Pieux and Barneville-Carteret, follow the winding country roads, through the village of Surtainville and on towards the coast where you will find Hameau Tranquille.

The best of both, countryside and beaches on the one site.

Built in the early 1990s, the cottage is of a Normandy style under a high sloping roof. The main doors open into a large lounge with kitchen and dining area, off which are two bedrooms, a double and a twin, and shower room. Over the bedrooms is a mezzanine area with a single bed and sitting/TV area. A second WC is is on this level.

Heating for the cooler season is via electric heaters, and as the cottages are very well insulated keeping warm is never a problem.

Outside there is a garden area with rotary clothes line, barbecue and garden furniture, an area for children

to play and ample space for parking.

The closest bars and restaurants are at Les Pieux in one direction, and Barneville-Carteret in the other.

There is an extensive list of places to eat at the cottage, all recommended by previous guests.

Whatever your idea of things to do is, you will find it in this area, and some thing you may not even have considered.

Built early in the 1990s, the cottages are of a typical Normandy style under a high sloping roof.

Double doors open into a large main room with a sitting area and kitchen/dinning area, off which are two bedrooms, one double and one twin, and shower room.

An open staircase takes you up to the mezzanine area, over the bedrooms, where the main seating area is with television, video player and DVD, cd/radio/cassette player. A single bed and second toilet is also on this level.

Heating for the cooler season is via electric heaters, and as the cottages are very well insulated keeping warm is never a problem

Some of our smaller guests, and some of our not so small guests, have described the property as a “giant Wendy house”.

Outside there is a garden area with rotary clothes line, barbecue and garden furniture, an area for children to play and ample space for parking.

Duvets and pillows are supplied.

Guests are required to bring their own duvet covers, sheets, pillow slips, towels and tea towels.

We have the above items available to hire - must be pre-booked.

Very nice cottage

The first two weeks of July, 2011, me, my wife, my daugther (age 14) and our dog (a beagle named Lucky) spend a very nice holiday in this cottage nr. 40 with a great view on the dunes and just a short walk to the beach (timed by my daughter at 8 minutes:-)).
The cottage itself offered enough space for all of us and contained all the nessecary things for a unconcerned holiday (incl. a video of the classic Blues Brothers movie)
