On the site of the 17thC farmhouse 'Mirathon' the outbuildings have been carefully restored to form four individual gites.  Complete with qa sparkling pool Gascogne is the smallest with accommodation for a couple and two children (bunk beds) and has  thick stone walls ensuring cool days in the summer and warm in the winter.Often called the French Tuscany this tranquil area cannot fail to attract people of all tastes with Bergerac to the north and Bordeaux to the west.  the property is nestling in undulating in the quiet countryside but surrounded by activities suitable for everyone.You can fill your days visiting small 13thC bastide towns.  kayak along the Dordogne, horse riding, cycling, play tennis, play boules, discover fantastic restaurants - whatever.  However if you simply want to relax in beautiful surroundings amid an abundance of riotous flowers taking the occasional dip in the stunning 11 x 5 Roman pol and lying in the sun with a glass of wine: the choice is yours.

The attractions of the regioan are well known - the rivers, the Chateaux, the scenery, the ancient towns and villages.  You are ideally placed to enjoy the best of this wonderful area with many local day and evening markets, fabulous restaurants catering for all tastes - and child friendly and of course wine tasting as Duras is very close to the appelations of Bordeaux, Graves, St. Emilion and not to be missed are the amazing sweet wines of Monbazillac and Sauternes.Don't forget the Monsegur Jazz Festival - 24 hours swing first weekend in July - is only 4kms from us. Golf enthusiasts will love the renowned Chateau de Vigiers course (30 mins) and other courses nearby.  If they wish to venture away from 'home' children can happily spend a day at the nearby Aqua Park or should the unthinkable hapen, rain, an undercover play park or go bowling.Not to be missed out of any itinerary is Bergerac with its fine old buildings and trips along the Dordogne.

    Rentals are from 4pm Saturday to 10 am Saturday.  Out of school holidays period rentals may be taken mid week.If the property is let for two adults only then of course the rental rates are reduced.All linen and towels (not for pool use) are provided.  Pool towels available €7 a week.  Clean linen is provided at the end of each week.

Gascogne is on the ground floor which makes it very suitable for families with young children.   Whilst providing the modern conveniences of self catering accommodation,  it has been renovated,  restored and furnished to a high standard retaining many of its original stone walls and exposed beams.  The well appointed kitchen has a full sized cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and of course all the necessary pots, pans, cutlery, crockery and glasses.The big living room/kitchen has a large open wood burning stove and a sofa bed.  This leads onto a 4.30mx3m private patio complete with retractable sun awning, table chairs and barbecue.  From here can be seen the lovely well stocked flower gardens and extensive lawns, the fishpond complete with tinkling fountains and a large barbecue with tables and chairs for 22 people.  The grounds are totally secure with mases of space to play games.

The gite Gascogne has a good sized double bedroom (with shower room adjacent) and leading off that is another bedroom, with bunk beds, suitable for children up to 10 years old.  Surrounding the fenced/alarmed  salt water pool which has steps at one end and slopes to a depth of 2m are further gardens and terrace with the huge banana trees providing welcome shade.  Sun loungers,  parasols and a shower are provided.Guests can enjoy the indoor playroom complete with table tennis and board games.
