On the site of the 17thC farmhouse 'Mirathon' the old farm outbuildings have been carefully restored to form four individual gites together with pool . These may be rented individually or in a group. The gite Garonne with its thick stone walls to keep it cool in the summer has one double and one twin bedroom. Often described as the French Tuscany this tranquil area steeped in bastide town history cannot fail to attract people of all tastes with Bergerac to the North and Bordeaux to the West. The farmhouse nestles in undulating countryside and surrounded by activities suitable for all ages. You can fill your day visiting small 13thC bastide towns, go kayaking along the Dordogne, horse riding, cycling, play tennis, poke around one of the many markets, discover fantastic restaurants - whatever. however if you simply want to relax in beautiful surroundings, taking the occasional dip in the stunning 11m x 5m Roman pool and doxing in the sun with a glass of wine; the choice is yours.

You are ideally placed to enjoy the best of this wonderful area with many local day and ev ening markets, fabulous restaurants catering for all tastes - and child friendly! - and of course wine tasting as Duras is very close to the appelations of Bordeaux, Graves, St. Emilion, Bergerac and not to be missed are the amazing sweet wines of Manbazillac and sauternes.Don't forget the Monsegur jazz festival - 24 hours swing first w/end in July is only 4kms from us Golf enthusiasts will love the renowned Chateau de Vigiers course and its restaurants) and other nearby courses. Children can happily spend a day at the nearby Aqua park or should the unthinkable happen, rain, there is an undercover play park. Not to be missed out of any itinerary is Bergerac with its fine old buildings and boat trips along the Dordogne.

Garonne - which used to be the old wine chai - is arranged over two floors. It has been beautifully and carefully restored still retaining many of the of its original stone walls and exposed beams whilst providing the modern conveniences of self catering accommodation. Downstairs is the large living room with settees and comfy chairs, a separate dining area and a kitchen (15mx5m), There are windows at either end and the gite features a spectacular open fire. Outside is a a south facing sunny open terraace (4.2mx3m) which overlooks the well-stocked gardens. Chairs tables and barbecue are provided but there is a further bigger barbecue complete with tables and chairs in the garden. Here there is masses of secure grassy areas for playing games, or maybe sit quietly under the shade of a tree or sunbathe. Upstairs is a well-appointed double bedroom, a bright twin bedroom and a shower room. Surrounding the fenced salt water 11m.

5m pool - which has steps at one end and slopes to a depth of 2m are further gardens and terrace with the huge banana trees providing welcome shade. Sun loungers, parasols and a shower are provided. Guest can enjoy the indoor playroom, complete with table tennis and board games.
