Beautiful contemporary villa on the edge of the quiet village of Beaufort in the heart of the Minervois. A few minutes' drive from local facilities, this villa set in a large private garden with pool and commands stunning views over the surrounding countryside - hills, vineyards and the majestic Pyrenees. Five minutes by car to the Canal du Midi. Thirty minutes' drive to the coast, half an hour's drive from the stunning mediaeval city of Carcassonne, half an hour's drive from St Pons de Thomière and the Parc Naturel Regional du Haut Languedoc. Two hours to the ski slopes.

Nearest Airport: Carcassonne at 35 Kilometres
Perfect for a family holiday, this list is by no means exhaustive. The villa is in the heart of the Minervois, just below the walls of a 12th century chateau - there are plenty of opportunities for cycling and hiking, from the Canal du Midi to the Parc Naturel Regional du Haut Languedoc. A walk through the vineyards down to the neighbouring village of Oupia and back is a lovely way to spend an evening. There are many vineyards in the area - how about a tasting tour (by bike)? If you want water, and lots of it, there is the Lac de Jouarres, less than 10 minutes by car, with watersports during the summer. The coast is forty car minutes away, just beyond the picturesque city of Narbonne on the Canal du Robine. The sandy beaches on the Golfe du Lion around Narbonne are lovely, and the mediterranean pinewoods on the coast behind Narbonne-Plage are gorgeous. Carcassonne and centuries of Cathar history are half an hour away, Minerve only 15 minutes.

Additional information about rental rates

  • We have reduced booking prices by up to 15% in 2009 for bookings made up to the end of February 2009.

    Out of season - €610 per week
    Low season (May and October 2008) - €780 per week
    Mid season (June and September 2008) - €1040 per week
    High season (July and August 2008) - €1450 per week

    There is a deposit of 20% of the total amount to be paid at the time of the booking. This is non-refundable. Balance to be paid in full 4 weeks prior to rental start date.

    There is also a security deposit of €600 to be paid with the balance - this will be refunded after the villa has been checked.

    The changeover is on a Saturday in high season, although other days can be accommodated out of season. The villa is ready for occupation between 16:00 and 18:00 and should be vacated by 10:00 on the morning of your departure. We ask you to leave the villa in the same condition you would like to find it in. Linen is provided, but please bring any beachtowels.

This is a beautifully presented, air conditioned/heated contemporary villa. The bedrooms have laminated wooden floors, the rest of the house is tiled. The villa is furnished throughout in a contemporary style. The villa has two double bedrooms on the ground floor, with a bathroom equipped with a shower, basin and bidet and two separate toilets. There is a very large lounge equipped with TV (UK free-to-air and free-to-view channels and French terrestrial TV, or Astra analogue channels), DVD player and stereo. There are terraces at the front and back, the one on the back has a table and built-in barbecue. There is an excellent restaurant in the village if you don't fancy cooking. There are two twin bedrooms upstairs, and a bathroom with bath, basin, bidet and toilet. There is also a sun loggia upstairs. The fully equipped kitchen is fitted with all mod cons: ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave etc.

The washing machine is situated in the garage, which is very spacious and perfect for suitcases etc. The drive is long enough for three cars. There are two mountain bikes available for guests to use, and wireless broadband Internet access is available if you have a WiFi-enabled laptop with you (both included in the rental price). There is a 3x6m pool in the large, secluded garden, which is surrounded by a lawn and has a physical barrier as required under French law (2004).
