Fell View is a lovely home from home, cosy and comfortable, ideal for couples and families alike. It's a hideaway of peace and quiet between the mountains and sea.Superbly well equipped and set in the village of Allithwaite amidst the picturesque rolling countryside of the South Lakes.You'll find it an ideal base, as all the attractions are only minutes away.Sit and enjoy the enclosed garden knowing your family and pet are safe ,it's a real sun trap and wonderful for eating alfresco .Parking for two cars, a 'welcome tray' , detailed 'holiday guide' of the area and file of 'local walks', some right from the front door! are all provided . The TV has free view and there are videos,CD's,board games,books etc. The village pub, serves terrific home cooked food by a roaring log fire, there's a well stocked shop and children's playground too. Nearby is Cartmel :- historic Priory, antique and craft shops, traditional pubs and Michelin starred L'Enclume restaurant. NO BOOKING FEE

Fell View is in the small village of Allithwaite on the stunning Cartmel Peninsula. Excellent pubs/restaurant are only yards way. Allithwaite has a post office / general store, children's playground, tennis court, bowling green and football pitch. Nearby is Cartmel with its ancient priory,cobbled streets, quality shops,race course, famous sticky toffee pudding shop and superb restaurants, and two miles away is Grange over Sands with its mild climate, beautiful promenade, ornamental gardens and shops. Several top Cumbrian visitor attractions are only a ten minute drive away: the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway ,the Windermere Lake Cruise Ships, and the aquarium of the lakes all at Lakeside.Nearby is Holker Hall , Sizergh Castle (NT) and the world famous Levens Hall. This is a wonderful area area for dog owners with walks from the doorstep and plenty of fields, footpaths, woods and beaches to choose from to ensure that your dog can run around off the lead.

The comfortable lounge is attractively furnished with a cottage suite, TV,radio,CD player and a good selection of videos. The dining table seats six and overlooks the patio garden. Bedrooms are colour co-ordinated and spacious. One bedroom has a double bed and the other has three single beds. The bathroom has a bath, shower and shaver point. We also have a downstairs cloakroom with toilet. The garden is dog safe, stocked with colourful plants, away from passing traffic and is a real sun trap.Ideal for lazy afternoons and BBQs. Cottage Facilities: Double glazed with gas central heating /hot water. Fully fitted kitchen, extremely well equipped with gas cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, automatic washing machine, tumble dryer/ iron and board. Teletext TV with freeview, video player and radio. Large selection of family and children's videos. Cot and booster chair available..no extra charge. Small library of books/magazines.

Children's toy box, balls, jigsaws, games, lego. Games table-pool/table tennis etc in garage (child sized). Picnic hamper with flask. Pay phone. Two toilets - one upstairs one down. Bed linen, tea towels etc provided. Secure patio garden, with furniture. Large garage for car, bikes or boat etc and front drive parking for second car. Dog(s) by arrangement. Non-smokers preferred. We found the information received regarding both the cottage and facilities to be spot on. The owners could not have been more helpfull or caring, ( including the welcome phone call to make sure all was well )
The cottage is of a very high standard through out and matches the best we have rented elsewhere. We found the directions and key system excellent, and enjoyed the lovely welcome tray left for us!
The information pack and visitor book gave us great ideas for our stay but unfortunatly we ran out of time to avail ourselves of every thing we would like to have done.
The only answer is we will have to revisit in the future for a longer stay and enjoy the missed adventure from the comfort of this lovely cottage.

Wonderful Cottage

From the moment we open the door at Fell View Cottage we knew we had made the right decision. Although when I opened the cutlery draw and found there was no TIN OPENER I thought my world had come apart, but when I opened the 2nd draw there was 1 in it.
The owners Allison and Brian have thought of everything for the comfort of there guests.
The arrangements for the Key and directions to the Cottage where spot on and we Thank them very much for the Telephone call which was very kind of them in case anything was missing or we did not understand anything. The people in the Village Store where friendly and helpful as was the staff in the Pheasent Pub,the food is excellent in the Pub .We where in the Cottage for the Race Festival held in Cartmel and found it very convenient, and also when the Races where not on we found some lovely walks with the help from the Manual left in the Cottage. Our daughter and Son-in-Law came for the 1st weekend and they could not beleive anywhere was so quiet and peaceful yet convenient for so many places of interest.
We all enjoyed it so much we have BOOKED it for the same weeks next year .

Idyllic quiet location

A beautiful, clean, cosy cottage in a peaceful location. An ideal base for exploring the grandeur of the area. The owners really care that you have a wonderful holiday and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Alison even popped by with some chocolates when we had a slight problem which was resolved in no time! Thepubs and restaurants in the area are well worth a visit and we would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a trouble free relaxing break.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Lovely Fell View

We had a lovely few days at Fell View Cottage. It's a perfect location for getting out and about, even in the snow!!! The Cottage is very well equipped - our only gripe was the Cottage didn't have a DVD player - but the owners have said they will be getting one soon. We will definitely return - hopefully in the summer :-). We highly recommend this Cottage and location for anyone who wants to get away from it all but be close enough to lots to do.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Home from home

We have stayed at fell view cottage 5/6 times.the descrition is spot on.Allithwaite is a lovely little village,quiet and peaceful and it is easy to get to other places. Grange-Over-Sands is about 5mins away and also Cartmel, we like both of these places. Bowness takes about 25 mins and Kendal. Fell view cottage is like home from home and has everything you need. It is comfortable and clean and nice to get back to after being out and relax. It also has a nice little garden with table and chairs.We would recommend Fell View to anyone.There are 2 pubs in the village that do meals. We have been to the Guide-Over-Sands but the last time we went the meal was not very good . The main meal was much to salty and we waited 35mins for a sweet (carrot cake) but in the end we gave up and walked out. We had lovely meals at the Kings Arms in Cartmel and Butter Fingers in Grange. The Lakeland Motor Museum at Holker Hall is closing and moving to Back Barrow.
