3 bedroom house in a quiet rural setting

The house is located in the quiet hamlet of La Boucherie, within one mile of the small town of Beaulieu sous la Roche. The popular resorts of St Gilles Croix-de-Vie, St Jean-de-Monts and Les Sables-d'Olonnes are within easy reach.

The Vendée is on the west coast of France, to the south of Brittany. It has a beautiful coastline with attractive countryside inland. It is about 3 hours from St Malo and 4 to 5 hours from Cherbourg and Caen.

The house will sleep 6 comfortably and could sleep 8.

There are lots of things to do and places to visit in the Vendée. There are plenty of walks and cycle rides around La Boucherie, Beaulieu sous La Roche and Aizenay, so you don't have to go far. Lac de Jauney is close by and has nice walks with lots of bird life.

La Grande Plage at St-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, to the south of the town, is the nearest beach to La Boucherie. It is only 30 minutes drive. The water is very shallow and is ideal for children and good for surfing. There is a pedestrian shopping area in the town, with a fun-fair and games rooms along the harbour. It is lively in the evenings with a good choice of restaurants.

Apremont is only 15 minutes drive and there is a man-made beach at the lake, with a safe supervised bathing area and play equipment. You can also do wind surfing and hire pedalos on the lake and river. The chateau at Apremont is well worth a visit. Nearby there are walks by the lake at Mache, and a cafe with a children's play area.

The downstairs consists of a large lounge, a dining room/kitchen and a bathroom.

The lounge has a large feature fire place, ceramic tiled floor and wooden beams. A patio door opens out into the large rear garden.

The upstairs consists of a large bedroom, two medium sized bedrooms and a shower room with a toilet. There are wooden floors, exposed beams and a wood panelled ceiling.

The garden at the rear of the house is just under half an acre. There is a flat section by the house which can be used for games. It then slopes down to a small stream, which is the boundary. Across the stream there are open fields.

There is a garden table and 6 chairs, 4 reclining chairs and a barbeque. You can have a perfect evening watching the sun set over the fields while your children tire themselves out running round the garden!

The perfect family holiday!

Very spacious, clean and well equipped accommodation with a large, private and peaceful rear garden - great for our young family.

Several nice beaches and castles within a half hour drive.

We have just booked to return for our thrird summer running which is the best recommendation we can give.

Highly recommended.

Back for more!

This was our second visit, having last been with two teenage boys some years ago and was every bit as good with just the two of us! Excellent facilities, comfortable rooms, a huge back garden and a well used barbecue in view of the stunning weather we encountered!

Plenty to do in the area, good local restaurants, supermarkets and tourist facilities, but mostly a perfect place to chill out - very quiet and relaxing.

Highly recommended!

So good we're going back for more!

We had a wonderful holiday at La Boucherie, the accommodation was just what we wanted (the photos really don't do it justice)! it was fully equipped in the house and the kids were more than catered for with all the bikes, boogie boards etc - There are lovely beaches a short drive away and plenty to do in the surroundiing area - we enjoyed it so much we booked again to return the following year!!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Ideal family holiday home.

A lovely, spacious house in a small and quiet hamlet at the end of a cul-de-sac. A big garden with plenty of space for the children to run around, with a swing, climbing frame and other toys to use. A good base to tour the region. Closest beaches about half an hour drive. Public footpaths leave from the hamlet for short walks. The house was well equipped. Ideal base for family holidays.
