The lodge is a modern styled non smoking, centrally heated double glazed 3 bedroom lodge is situated on the prestigious Lakeland Leisure Village at the gateway to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. The lodge consists of 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower and loo, 2 twin bedrooms, bathroom and open plan living/kitchen/dining area and veranda with seating for 6 and a gas barbeque. The lounge area contains a top quality entertainment system consisting of media centre complete with DVD/CD/radio/stored music and surround sound system. The 37 inch LCD TV screen is complete with freeview/freesat viewing and is built into the wall above the fire place. Bedroom 1 enjoys flatscreen LCD TV For rainy days there is a collection of DVDs to relax with and take advantage of the superior quality of the entertainment system and a selection of board games. The dining area table seats 6 with ease and leads onto the veranda complete with table and chairs for6. See website link below.

16 Lakeside is sited at South Lakeland Leisure Village which is ideally placed on the doorstep of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales and only a few miles away from Silverdale and Arnside which has been designated an Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty. Within the Lake District and the Dales the opportunities for walking, cycling, sailing, fishing, golf, climbing and bird watching are limitless. The RSPB reserve at nearby Leighton Moss is a mecca for bird watchers and is nationally renowned. Recognised local beauty spots inclde Fairy Steps, Wharton Crag, Arnside Knott and Farleton Fell, popular places for walks and picnics. Younger guests particularly seem to enjoy South Lakes Zoo, Docker Park Farm which is hands on and the Butterfly House at Williamson Park, Lancaster. The GoApe experience in the beautiful Grizedale Forest seems very popular with the over 10s. Water sports at Pine Lakes and diving at Capernwray are both very local.     .The lodge will be available from 4.00 pm on the day of your arrrival and should be departed by 10.00 am on the date of departure.

    The lodge can be booked for short breaks from Mon - Fri and Fri - Mon with prices for 2010 starting at £225.00 for 3 nights and £280 for 4 nights - please contact the owner for details.

    There is a £60 booking deposit with the final balance due 4 weeks prior to the holiday and a £100 security deposit payable in addition to the final balance to cover any damages . The £100 security deposit is fully refundable once keys are returned and no damages found.

    There are additional charges for the use of the Leisure Centre and this can be paid in advance to ourselves to take advantage of the discounted rate or directly to the Leisure Centre on session basis
  • Price includes gas and electricity. Beds are made for number of people specified.

The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher, electric oven, microwave, toaster, tableware, cutlery, pots, pans and utensils.. In the kitchen is a small breakfast bar area with 2 comfy stools, ideal for reading the morning paper or supervising the cookery!

On the Leisure Village there is a Leisure Centre which includes a swimming pool, steam room, newly upgraded gymnasium for 2008, fitness studio and beauty therapy rooms. The gymnasium overlooks the pool and leads onto the outside terrace area. We have negotiated a discounted rate for the Leisure Centre for anyone who wants to book in advance - please ask. There is one bar/restaurant - the Waters Edge bar and restaurant serves excellent food and can be recommended. The Waters Edge also has an outside terrace area which overlooks the lake and beach area and is ideal for sitting out on a warm day with a glass of wine whilst watching the children play on the beach. You can enjoy windsurfing sailing or kayaking on the lake using your own craft - non motorised activities only. Please note that the lodge is a no smoking lodge and pets are not allowed.

My Excellent Lodge Break!

I stayed at the lodge with a few of my friends for a relaxing getaway and we were not disappointed!

The lodge was beautifully presented, with a modern interior (including plasma TVs, whirlpool bath, modern kitchen, en suite to master bedroom), extremely clean and situated on the edge of lake. What more can you ask! There was also BBQ and outdoor patio dining facilities, which we didn’t get around to using, as it was a little chilly!

There is a nice gym, spa and leisure centre on site with a pool and steam room, and a restaurant to dine out in. But there is really little need to leave the lodge if you don’t want to, we got some shopping from the Tesco and Booths (a couple of miles down the road) and spent most of the weekend enjoying the lodge.

I think there are some good places to visit in the area too, although we didn't quite get around to exploring.

I would recommend this lodge for anyone to stay in! I look forward to returning later in the year!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: We love relaxing at the lodge as well and it always makes us feel really good and especially pleased when guests tell us that they have enjoyed their stay.

We need to point out that the bath is a corner bath and not a whirlpool.
