Spacious secluded villa with 2 bedrooms as featured in TimesOnline top 50 worldwide destinations. Amazing views across the bay. Possible discounts for dog lovers, see pricing. Individually furnished and decorated by the owner as a practical attractive home. Pool, restaurant, bar, small beaches and coves within few hundred metres in a resort which has been operating for 10 years. Natural air circulation keeps it cool. Ample quality teak garden furniture for eating, lazing, sunbathing. Hammock. Balconies, roof terrace, large verandah, outdoor dining room with views over unspoilt bay and ocean. Private villas to either side, nothing between you and the ocean in front. 10 mins transfer from airport, 10 mins to Santa Maria or Espargos (5 euros for taxi or 1 euro on bus). Cook at home, or eat in the resort's restaurant by the ocean. Sal is less than 6 hours direct flight from UK, temperate climate warm all year, scarcely any rain, no jet lag, 10 minute transfer to villa.

Windsurfing, kite surfing, sailing, fishing, game fishing, snorkelling, surfing, diving in the bay or within 10 minutes by motor. Visit the Volcanic crater and old salt mines at Pedra de Lume or swim in the natural rock pools at Burracona. Day trips to other islands by plane or boat. The resort restaurant with tables indoors and outdoors has beautiful views over Murdeira Bay, and a choice of European or local dishes.

There are long walks around Murdeira Bay, and there is excellent snorkeling and swimming in the sea or in the large pool. There are long white sandy beaches not far. The small beaches and coves in Murdeira have few, if any people. Take your picnic to a secluded spot (picnic crockery provided).

Shops, fish market, bars, restaurants, nightclubs, vast beaches 10 minutes by motor.

We ask renters to leave the villa in the same good clean condition that they found it in. The villa will be cleaned prior to arrival and weekly, for stays longer than 7 nights.     DISCOUNTS FOR DOG LOVERS For those villa guests who love dogs, and would be willing to put out food and water (we will provide this) for two charming beach dogs called Niki and Jet, we will offer a discount of 50% on the villa price. Please contact us to find out more, and for which dates discounts are possible. There are no kennels in Sal, and although Niki and Jet will be leaving to go to their new home in Germany, they need to stay in Sal until their paperwork is all in order. You may have noticed a picture of a dog in the villa photographs. This is Brando, the beach dog we rescued from Sal in 2011. Also, on one of the photos is his friend known as Barbos, who left Sal for a new life in Scotland.

    If you don't like dogs, don't worry. These dogs don't live at or in the house and are currently being fed by someone elsewhere in Murdeira.

Shower room on ground floor with exterior window (large shower) with wc, basin, cabinet. Both fully tiled and with hand holds on the walls to ease getting in/out of bath or shower. Outdoor shower and large Belfast basin in the locked outdoor area we call the quintal, is very handy for coming back covered in sand from the beach or chopping up fresh fish such as tuna or garoupa. There is also a store room with extra garden furniture, beach games, and washing machine. There are several washing lines, and plenty of pegs.

Super King size bed with Vispring double mattress. The sun streams in in the morning. Second bedroom on ground floor with shutters/insect netting chest of drawers, mirror, wardrobe, hair dryer and fan, and bed with 2 x 3 foot mattresses which can be made up as two singles or a super king. Natural stone tiles on wall. The sun streams in in the morning. Shower room is next door, and extra large fitted cupboard in hallway. Each bedroom has four pillows, fine Egyptian cotton sheets, blankets, and bedcover.

We stayed in Murdeira for 2 weeks looking carefully before buying. We loved the position and the feeling of light and airiness. At the edge of a West facing bay, with ocean views and beautiful sunsets, you can hear the sound of the sea and watch the colour of the water change from turquoise to dark blue to grey to glistening white under the moonlight, to jet black. Most guests spend their time outdoors, and enjoy sunbathing on the roof terrace overlooking the bay (teak chaise longues with mattresses). Wake up to the smell of fresh baked bread, listen to the rustling of the palm fronds. Have breakfast on east facing breakfast balcony, lunch on the roof terrace, sundowners and dinner in the west facing outdoor dining room or on the terrace surrounded by hibiscus.

With small sandy beaches or coves to choose from, your closest one is about 100 yards, where the bottom shelves slowly. Space to store your sport equipment. Car parking outside.

With windows, mahogany shutters and balconies/patios on three sides, and insect netting throughout, the villa is kept at the right temperature, day and night by natural environmentally friendly methods. This part of the resort was built by a Cape Verde company nine years ago, with a local architect . They installed the facilities needed for an Atlantic island, with stand-by electricity generator, additional water storage, roads, lighting, security as well as properties specifically designed for the local climate. About the owners. We have been letting this villa since 2005 years, and despite this being well furnished when we purchased from careful Germans, we have shipped out many extras such as futons from Notting Hill, teak garden furniture, solid wood furniture, quality bedding, beach towels, Denby china and lots of kitchen implements. We travel frequently to all Cape Verde Islands.

Huge inventory upon request. Sal is great all year, for winter sunshine holidays, and in the summer too.

I would recommend this villa to anyone without reservation! There is everyhing you could ever want and all to a very hiugh standard!

We had a truly relaxing holiday and it was lovely to catch some winter sun - FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best villa rental ever

The villa and resort more than lived up to the advertising and all our contacts with the owners were efficient and friendly. The villa was clean, spacious and very well equipped with lots of sitting out areas, all with good views. Useful to have shady as well as sunny spots. We liked the privacy and space but it was also useful to have a lovely pool area, reasonable restaurant and shop close by. We enjoyed the island and were glad we had hired a 4x4 so that we could wander the coastline at will. Lovely beaches but swimming possibilities limited if sea is rough, as it was for us. Lots of good places to eat cheaply in Santa Maria, the main resort. Local shops and markets were limited but adequate and everyone was very friendly. A relaxing place for a sunny seaside holiday - we didn't bother going into hotels, clubs or on tours but just totally chilled out. We have already recommended this villa to friends!
