Duquesa port is one of Spain's best kept secrets and is just 2 minutes walk from the apartment. The attractive promenades encircling the port offer a variety of restaurants, intimate bars and cafés in which to while away the days. The vast choice of eating and drinking options include French, Italian, Chinese, Indian, Thai and, of course, Spanish with its fresh, local fish.
Behind the port lies an 18 hole golf course (Duquesa Golf), designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., with fabulous views of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Africa. Sabinillas is a 5 minute walk from the apartment in the other direction. It is an authentic Spanish fishing village with a traditional selection of shops, bars and restaurants.
Here you can witness the daily catch of the local fisherman as they bring their boats up the beach, or simply stroll along the pretty promenade, mingling with the locals and choosing in which restaurant to have lunch! A market is held here twice weekly and attracts visitors from far and wide. Sabinillas has a wonderful sandy beach which is never crowded, and affords views towards Gibraltar and on a clear day, Africa.
For golfers, there are 60 courses on this coast including Valderrama (15 min drive), the venue of the 1997 Ryder Cup, San Roque and Sotogrande (15 min drive).
