Kaya Vadi is a private complex of 4 villas, situated in the gorgeous valley of Kaya Koy between Olu Deniz and Fethiye. This entry describes the largest of the 4 villas - Kaya Vadi House - which has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 7. This is a spacious two-storey residence with the bedrooms downstairs for coolness, and with the living areas upstairs to take advantage of the stunning views over the valley to the mountains.

The famous author of the book "Captain Corelli's Mandolin", Robert de Berniere, has also published another novel, based in this valley called "Birds without Wings". In the book he really captures the atmosphere of the village and its history. Kaya Vadi is a lovely place to spend your entire holiday but there are many beautiful and interesting places to visit locally. Within 15 mins by car/taxi is the beautiful beach at Olu Deniz, 3km long and turquoise waters, the perfect place to enjoy sun, sea and sand. The Lagoon part of the beach is a lovely spot, particularly if you have younger children as it is completely calm and only 30cm or so deep. The harbour town of Fethiye is 15 mins in the other direction and offers a variety of restaurants, shops and cafes, and of course the delightful harbour which is a lovely place to enjoy a cool drink and watch the world go by.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Our change over days are generally Monday to Monday although we can be flexible outside peak times. Please do not hesitate to enquire about an alternative arrival/departure day.

    Maid service is Monday when the villa is cleaned thoroughly and all linens, towels etc. are changed. On a Thursday we clean bathrooms and change towels, and vacuum and wash the floors.

    We deliver fresh bread every morning, and an ironing service is available if required.

    Flights, airport transfers and car hire can be arranged.

    There is a no smoking rule inside the villa, but with weather like ours, smoking outside is never a problem!

The huge kitchen / dining area is equipped with every modern appliance and an antique dining table to seat 8. In the cavernous lounge you will find a TV / DVD and video with a stock of films. Set amongst stunning Mediterranean gardens our 14m peanut shaped swimming pool is a central feature. There are 3 picturesque ruined stone cottages next to the pool terrace, and in one there is a Turkish style seating platform with scattered rugs and cushions - a cool spot to relax with a book and a cool drink. Kaya Vadi is located in the picturesque valley of Kaya Koy surrounded by mountain landscapes. An environmentally protected village, Kaya Koy is a wonderful example of rural life in Turkey. Designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty and historical significance, Kaya offers a wonderful location to enjoy a relaxing holiday surrounded by natural sounds, sunshine and tranquility.

Within walking distance there are a variety of local restaurants offering traditional and western cuisine at surprisingly low prices. There are some stunning historical sites in the surrounding area offering a touch of culture to your holiday. You can access these sites independently by car or as part of a Jeep Safari or other tour. The delightful harbour town of Fethiye, is just a 15 minute drive in one direction, and the wonderful beaches at Olu Deniz and Gemiler are a similar distance in the other. From Fethiye you can take a cruise round the islands in one of the many gulets lined up along the promenade. Or go shopping in the old town for designer clothes or watches at silly prices.
